Sen. Ted Cruz might finally get the chance to prove he is eligible to run for president once and for all.
A Houston-based attorney has filed a lawsuit against Cruz, asking the U.S. Supreme Court to settle whether Canadian-born Cruz is eligible for the presidency. Noting that the Iowa caucuses are just weeks away, the attorney asks the court to expedite the case as quickly as possible.
"This 229 year question has never been pled, presented to or finally decided by or resolved by the U. S. Supreme Court," wrote attorney Newton Schwartz in his lawsuit that he filed Thursday. "Only the U.S. Supreme Court can finally decide, determine judicially and settle this issue now."
He writes: "It is undisputed, by all legal scholars, there is no U.S. Supreme Court decision or precedent: determinative of the following agreed facts of this case and controversy. 'Natural born citizen' has never been defined."
Schwartz asked the court to rule that Cruz is not eligible to run for President.
The Cruz campaign declined to comment on the suit, but said Cruz has no connection Schwartz.

Hmmm. [head-scratch] [ponder] Hmmmmm.
OK, I give up. What do you suppose the reply is when the Court looks dumbfounded on hearing this argument and asks the Cruz legal team "How is Dr. Onaka's verification conceivably relevant to the Constitutional claims that birth outside the U.S. renders Sen. Cruz ineligible?"
I'm sure you have a theory that will prove most entertaining.
Yeah because it would affect all of the anchor babies...
Yeah right. Noooooooooo one would have ever thought about Cruz’s NBC status if Trump had not opened his mouth. This never would have come up. Suuuuuure. This proves Trump is a Democrat plant, and is working for Hillary.
I believe that every candidate for president should be vetted in the very beginning. Look at the mess we find ourselves in by waiting.
Well, Trump had no problem from the beginning, and actually said he had checked it out and he was perfectly legal to be president.
They are coming out of the woodwork.
But nary a word about the Kenyan and his fraudulent B.C.
Re Jones V Bush the attorney has no standing.
Didnt Trump recently get some information from high powered legal types, new food for thought, as to facts hmmmmm
Isnt Cruz’s problem not just where he was born, but the fact his mother was something more than born in the USA. Being as his mother was actively voting in Canada ? etcetera
Predictable
Nah, trump the clinton donor bought up the birther nonsense. Typical of a lefty to indulge in nonsense
Here is the faulty reasoning in that ruling...
Constitution of the United States Article 1, Section 8, Clause 4.
To claim 8 U.S.C. Sec. 1403(a) grants the status of natural born citizen upon anyone is an outright lie due to the fact that Congress can only pass laws governing naturalization. Congress doesn't have the ability to "render" anyone into a natural born citizens, they can only make a foreigner/alien into a US citizen.
If people can't understand something as simple as that then I really feel sorry for our nation and ts future.
Which law in particular are you talking about? USC 8?
The law is there for you to read. Look it up yourself. Cruz is a nbc.
To say otherwise is leftwing silliness.
Trump donated to hitlery & is a longtime friend of both clintons.
Thats trump’s history
Scroll further down. Looks like Louisiana punished him also.
Really? You would expect that outcome from the Supreme Court?
Not a chance.
Yep, Trump and Grayson are in cahoots.
RIP, roaddog727
Democrats can always find judges.
Cruz can argue that Obama being allowed to be POTUS in spite of legal confirmation that he has no legally-valid US birth certificate sets a precedent for a foreign-born person to be POTUS.
