http://www.nationalreview.com/article/429824/charleston-republican-debate-attacks-frontrunners-ted-cruz-donald-trump

“......The biggest news of the night is that the unspoken alliance that existed for so long between Cruz and Trump has officially crumbled. Their awkward detente began to fray last week, when Trump suggested the Canadian-born Cruz might be ineligible for the presidency. And, in an unusual role reversal, it was Cruz who went on the attack early in the evening and put it to bed for good.

When moderator Neil Cavuto asked Cruz whether he’d like to settle the issue of his presidential eligibility once and for all, Cruz delivered perhaps his strongest response of the debate season, chalking up Trump’s attack to political desperation. He noted that Trump’s lawyers had looked into the issue last September and concluded that Cruz was eligible.

“Since September, the Constitution hasn’t changed, but the poll numbers have,” Cruz said, to booming applause. Trump validated that theory a moment later, when pressed by the moderators on why he was now raising the issue against Cruz. “Because he’s doing a little bit better,” the real-estate mogul said with a shrug...”

Trump was absolutely correct. This topic of Cruz’s eligibility needs to be addressed by judges now and settled before, A) Cruz grabs the nomination or B) Cruz grabs a VP slot. Wouldn’t want this to be an issue leading into November that hands the election to whichever Marxist the dems nominate.

It’s a political diversion because Trump’s feeling the heat of Cruz’s election strength.

I think Reagan would totally reject Trump and go for Cruz. Sure, I've seen the pictures posted of Trump with Ronald Reagan -- I've also seen pics of Michael Jackson with Ronald Reagan. And folks who claim that Trump "supported Reagan" need to bone up on their facts. Trump actually supported Jimmy Carter against Reagan in 1979. Sure, he donated to Reagan -- AFTER he donated to Mondale.

Reagan had been a Republican for 18 years before he sought the Republican nomination for President.

Trump has been a Republican for not quite 7 years -- this time around, anyway. Who knows how long it will be before he again switches parties and becomes a Democrat or an Independent. It wouldn't be the first time for Trump, who's switched parties three times during the same years Cruz graduated high school, got a law degree with honors, studied the Constitution, clerked for the Supreme Court, argued several cases in front of the Supreme Court, and then won a race no one thought he could win, as Senator. All that time Ted Cruz was a Republican, young, cool-headed, focused. All the time Donald Trump was switching parties the way some folks switch cars, steady Teddy was using his skills to advance the kind of political values Reagan loved.

You go ahead and vote for Trump at your own risk. It would be respectful if you would STOP insulting Ronald Reagan, a truly great limited government conservative who would most likely be very solidly in Ted Cruz's camp if he was alive today.

For crying out loud, get real.

Handful of anti Trump nuts out to destroy this website?

WRONG, pal. Your "handful" is actually slightly more than half. I have been keeping a count of individuals over the past several months.

The tone of a thread often belies the consensus. The minority tends to yell louder, post more frequently, and make it look like they're not the minority ... but they are.

Cruz supporters have the slight majority on FR right now, according to my careful count.

How about posting the picture of Reagan with Michael Jackson? How about posting the MUCH more recent picture of Trump with Bill and Hillary Clinton?

Hmmmmmmmmmm???

Encouraging. Thanks. It looks like it’s going to be down to Cruz, Trump and Rubio pretty soon. An open convention is a real possibility.

So because of 911, New Yorkers aren't liberal?

Tnstead of admitting the obvious, Trump has to portray Cruz as somehow demeaning the NYFD. It's so typically dishonest of Trump.

I work in Boston and believe it or not, Bostonians are extremely liberal.

There was also a terrorist bombing in Boston where the first responders reacted bravely.

The two facts are unrelated.

No...those are American values.

New York values are the same ones that elected Bloomberg and DeBlasio. But you already know that or you’re from NY and truly have no clue how much the rest of the country dislikes NYC.

NYC political values gave us 9-11....made us vulnerable....kept the CIA and FBI from comparing notes on suspected terrorists.....they give us liberal Democrats every election cycle.....they take salt and coke off the table of restaurants....

That video you speak of spoke of Obama in words of praise like he was Hitler or Chairma Mao.

These girls were simply singing in a delightful way about our nation.

Surely you must see the difference.

None of it was in praise of or directed at Trump.

As I said, I didn’t care for it, but you folks are way off the deep end of the hypersensitivity scale if you think this is even remotely like the Obama worshipers.

This is why some folks think some of you have gone round the bend in your dislike of anything associated with Trump.

There’s nothing remotely unseemly about these girls whatsoever.

The entire Ted Cruz - Donald Trump ACT was a brilliant masterpiece ....

they DEVOURED over 7:30 minutes of debate time with their ACT ...

while Kasich, Marco, Jeb Christy and Ben Carson were condemned to SILENCE ...

meanwhile Ted Cruz for the FIRST TIME showed his comic genius, with Donald Trump as the straight man ...

finally, they took the opportunity to select each other as their Vice Presidential candidate ...

Sheer political genius !!!!
