Isn’t NY a super blue state? I’m a lifelong VA guy, and I can tell you, Northern VA is filled with subhuman dem voters; filth garbage trash, vermin that needs exterminating. I can admit that as easily as I admit the sun rises in the east. If NY is super blue, then the same logic applies. If they are not super blue, then I apologize.
In other words, Marylanders.
There are large inner cities in NY/NJ. To outsiders they define the States. The county I live in and the surrounding 5 are very conservative. The Demoncrats have been in control in NY for decades and there is the whole favors owed thing operating.
However Brooklyn where I was born is changing and most of the people I know and my relatives are very enthusiastic about Trump, even my 96 year old aunt. She says no more Democrats. As an aside she has been voting Republican for the last 25 years or more. Early in NY’s history there was a large union presence and people of that generation voted Democratic. Obama however taught many people many things. I have hopes for NY. DeBlasio may finish teaching them about the consequences of elections.
I think like many of the people in America NYers were content to elect politicians like they rooted for their ball teams. That needed to change and I think it has. The problem is the large cities which overwhelm the state. If you watch the election maps the majority of NY goes Republican but NY overwhelms them, just like Newark, Jersey City, Camden, Elizabeth and several others sink us. California has the same issue with the Northern counties openly in revolt.
I lived in NY for 23 years and the majority of people I met were hard working, loved their families and country, tried to do their best. I don’t actually know anybody but my airport limo driver who voted for Obama and he’s sorry now.
