WASHINGTON— Donald Trump stepped up his attack on Sen Ted Cruz’s eligibility to run for president Wednesday calling for Cruz to drop out of the race.
Donald J Trump
@realDonaldTrump
"Sadly, there is no way that Ted Cruz can continue running in the Republican Primary unless he can erase doubt on eligibility. Dems will sue!"
Trump recently warned the GOP that if Cruz becomes the nominee ,the party would be risking the White House. Trump claims Democrats would hold up the election in court, litigating whether or not Cruz is considered a natural born citizen.
Trump’s views on Cruz’s eligibility have changed throughout the campaign.
The first time he was asked about Cruz’s Canadian birth in 2013, Trump, the loudest ‘birther’ questioning the legitimacy of President Barack Obama citizenship, wasn’t sure if Cruz was qualified. Trump was still not convinced last March, months before announcing his own bid for president. By September, Trump said he was confident Cruz had the legal standing to run.

You know, I could take the time to explain to you that you're confused and apparently don't even have a clue what you posted, but why?
"Also the super-rich donor-free "elites" should run for office is getting to be a well used talking-point, so here is my answer: For this election at this point in time, a self funded person, running as a nationalist,is the proper choice. The donor class today has evolved into globalists and the politicians are their lickspittles."
That foolish crap might play among Trump fangirls---in fact, I imagine it might get you to thinking you've all come up with some original, earth-shattering new philosophy---but it doesn't wash with those of us who aren't looking at the world through Trump-colored glasses. I suggest you go try it on someone who's susceptible.
"Cruz is a true religious, social conservative and that in no way is inconsistent - basis his votes - with being a globalist."
"Basis his votes"---have no idea what that means.
BTW, for the record, and once more, I'm going to note your fevered opposition to Cruz--and I don't use the word lightly---along with the fact that you've been a member since 2006 but only started posting two weeks ago.
I think we'll all know for sure the night of March 15th.
But it would be fun as hell to see it go until June 7th when CA and New Jersey weigh in.
Can't wait to see the Hillary ads that show copies of the checks Trump stroked to her campaign. But at least it is good to know that Trump no longer supports third-trimester abortions.
I fully expected Trump to take off the kid gloves with Cruz because he is running to win. Boo Hoo he plays to win and now people want to call him names and all the labels we use on the enemies of Freedom.
I also expect Trump to prevail and win the nomination because he wants to win to try and turn America around.
The GOP has stabbed the us in back, they are worse than despicable in their greed to maintain control.
I don’t believe Cruz can accomplish what Trump will accomplish, he is a politician but no businessman. Have we have enough of politicians yet?
Trump has my vote. Vote TRUMP!

Catherine O’ Arrogant
I’ve been on here since 1999, so what? Who are you the posting police?
Do you think you are actually changing minds and hearts of people supporting Trump? Are you on Ted Zeppelin’s payroll?
You are probably turning more people AWAY from Ted with your high & mighty attitude.
Just thought I would share that with you and don’t forget when the Cruzenberg crashes.
Vote TRUMP!
I see a lot of sore cruzerman alerts. LOL!
That might be cute if it weren't so unoriginal. You can do better, come on.
"Iâve been on here since 1999, so what? Who are you the posting police?"
Was I talking to you? No.
Good for you for being a longtimer. In view of that, looks like you'd have the discernment to support a conservative.
"Do you think you are actually changing minds and hearts of people supporting Trump? Are you on Ted Zeppelinâs payroll?"
Some Trump people are capable of seeing reason. I witnessed it earlier today, when a few Trump supporters said they were about done with him, and one of them said she was officially done. But the true believers? Reason won't get through to them.
"You are probably turning more people AWAY from Ted with your high & mighty attitude."
Specifics?
"Just thought I would share that with you and donât forget when the Cruzenberg crashes."
Yeah, we'll see, won't we.
"Vote TRUMP!"
Are you one of those Trump fans who's compelled to always type his name in caps?
Anyone ever wonder if Trump is really a shill for Hillary who got into the GOP primaries to bloody up the Republican candidates?
Awesome summary!
Trump should drop out of the race for being in the control of the mob for over 30 years. We can’t have a president who is under the control of the mafia.
Exactly right...this is how its done nowadays...look what they did to Sarah Palin. Democrats refined this stuff....
Trump won't or can't do that. Only the congress can. It all comes down to electoral votes AND congress certifying the winner. If congress determines that Cruz (or Obama) is qualified it's a done deal. It's why nobody has "standing" in all the suits against Obama.
Why do people not see that Trump is using the same Alinsky tactics that Dems use? Why canât people see his true colors?
What needs to happen to get people to understand that Trump is NO conservative? That he makes even Romney, look Conservative?
The general population is about to find out. Trumpees don’t care about facts. He could be caught on live video naked in bed with a young boy and trumpees would deny, or excuse or cheer him. They always do.
We have a mostly crooked court system, does anyone believe that the monstrous “Patient Protection and Afffordable Care Act” is actually authorized by the constitution? It’s all a lot of make believe.
Huge numbers believed that Obama was born in Chicago, I know because I spoke to several in one small group who thought that. People get things into their head and don’t know where the belief came from, some realize that they don’t really know for sure but others are “certain” that they have it on good authority. Most people are capable of believing anything whether it makes any sense or they have any evidence for the belief is largely irrelevant to them.
Nobody here that's bothered to do any research on the original intent of the Commerce Clause does. OTOH, Trump is advocating federal "single payer" health care and nobody seems to give a rat's ass about the implications of that. We seem to be rushing head-long into abandoning the Constitution and institutionalizing "pen and phone" governance from the Executive branch without any real concern for the long term consequences.
Trump is right, anyone who doesn’t think Democraps won’t make an issue of his eligibility is out of their minds. Look at Al Gore and the freakin chads
The democrats will make an issue out of everything they can get their hands on, but there is nothing lilly white about Trump's past. He has plenty without having to dig deep for the democrats to attack him on...
Like his Mob Connections or His support for Democrats Like Hillary or Harry Reid or his foreign wives or some other business dealing. If Democrats feared Trump they would already be hitting him harder now, to try to weaken him so they could go against someone easier to beat. The silence on the Democrat side speaks volumes.

Reminds me so much of those who follow Obama. Ugh...have we not learned ANYTHING? ((shaking head))
Could it be that Trump is trying to implode?
