LG's fridge lets you see what's inside without opening the door

LG unveiled a bunch of new things at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show...One of its new products is a fridge that looks like a giant smart phone. But the funny looking fridge comes with some innovative features.

The first is a feature that lets you knock on the right fridge door to view contents without actually opening it up. This keeps food fresher and prevents you from grazing.

The second is a smart sensor detector at the foot of the fridge that opens the door automatically when your hands are full of groceries.

Please just offer the "door in door" Refreshment Center option again.

Please, please, pretty please, would you do that again? Please, sir, can I have another?

I promise I'll buy one again. I promise I will!

This new “feature” saves energy by not having the door open so often.
Energy saving —> reduced CO2
Reduced CO2 —> reduces temperature in year 2100 by 0.000001 degree
Government mandates new “feature” on all new refrigerators by 2017. All old refrigerators must be junked by 2020.
Congress will call it the “Cash for Reefers Act of 2016.”

I am apparently not their target market.
I already know what is in my fridge.
I don’t open it to “graze”, I open it to get stuff.
If they could alert me to the expiration date on the milk,
then they might have something I might be interested in.

I hope LG comes out again with the Microwave with a Coffee Maker. I had a Microwave with a built in Coffee Maker, but the Microwave blew its fuse or something. I love it because it helped save counter space and it was a very easy coffee maker to use.

I don’t care what features LG offers as long as they provide an icemaker that doesn’t leak all over the floor. LG has replaced my icemaker once for that problem, and it came right back again. Now I’ve just turned off the water until I can figure out what to do next. I hate to replace a $2000 appliance for a faulty icemaker, and I can’t find someone to repair it.

To me it looks like a vanity fridge..no real purpose but to be decorative. Where's the ketchup and mustard, etc

Transparent nano-wall. Look until you find what you want, then just reach through and get it.

I have an LG 50” TV and it works great. Whatever.

I worked at Magnavox/Phillips for a while before they moved everything to Europe.

No love lost there.

A smart sensor that opens the door when your hands are full.I wonder how long it will take for my German Shepherd to exploit that feature.

LG? Never had anything by them. Sony? Unnecessarily proprietary on parts.

My current ban is on anything Samsung. Barely lasts until the warranty expires.

Those are widely available both by LG and other manufacturers (like Samsung).

>>>In the future someone will invent a material that’s transparent to use instead<<<

Transparent Aluminum. Scotty showed a guy how to make it in one of the Star Trek Movies.
