Trump doesn’t apologize to our enemies, but he does praise them

Barack Obama enraged many Americans when he began his presidency on an “apology tour.” Famously, Obama bowed to Saudi King Abdullah.

Donald Trump hasn’t signaled he would act similarly. In fact, Trump doesn’t apologize for anything—even to God.

But Trump has gone out of his way to praise some bad foreign leaders.

First, he praised Russian President Vladimir Putin:

One day after Putin called Trump a “bright and talented”and the “absolute leader of the presidential race,” the Republican presidential front-runner returned the compliments, hailing Putin as a “leader” and pointing to his high favorability numbers in Russia.

“He’s running his country and at least he’s a leader, unlike what we have in this country,” Trump said when asked by “Morning Joe” Republican host Joe Scarborough about Putin’s alleged killing of journalists and political opponents.

“I think our country does plenty of killing also, Joe, so you know. There’s a lot of stupidity going on in the world right now, a lot of killing, a lot of stupidity,” he said.

Now--and this is much more alarming--he is praising North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un:

“If you look at North Korea, this guy, he’s like a maniac, OK?” Trump said at a rally in Ottumwa, Iowa, on Saturday.

“And you’ve got to give him credit: How many young guys--he was like 26 or 25 when his father died--take over these tough generals and all of a sudden, you know, it’s pretty amazing when you think of it. How does he do that?” he added.

“Even though it is a culture, and it’s a culture thing, he goes in, he takes over, he’s the boss. It’s incredible.”

After North Korea’s government said it successfully tested a hydrogen bomb earlier this week, Trump called the authoritarian leader a “madman playing around with nukes” and a “total nut job.”

But he also insinuated that Kim had some admirable qualities.

“I mean, it’s amazing that a young guy would go over and take over,” Trump said Thursday on Fox News’ “On the Record.” “You know, you would have thought that these tough generals would have said no way this is gonna happen when the father died.

“So he’s gotta have something going for him, because he kept control, which is amazing for a young person to do,” he added.

This is all bizarre--certainly unpresidential--but nothing Trump does can surprise people any longer.

“FOX management is OWNED by the Repub establishment. The chorus line has their orders from Ailes, et al, to attack Trump.”

While I completely agree with respect to Fox News, Lou Dobbs and Stuart Varney have really been on fire on FBN. So much so, I am wondering when they’re going to get “told.”

It’s not Cruz.

That’s what’s wrong.

Some folks would rather that, instead of recognizing the potency of some other leaders, we do "The Biden" and laugh them off with derision and totally ignore their abilities to wreak havoc if they so decide...

Funny how squeaky clean Trump must be if folks have to use some of his many strengths and try to present them as weaknesses...

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I donate to the candidate I support and you should too, else, your "support" really doesn't have any meaning.

It's even worse if you use FR and don't donate. If you are one of those who feel it's OK to use FR daily w/o helping pay to keep the lights on, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches because, functionally, you are no different than any other who enjoys the fruits of others' work for your own benefit. Also, don't be surprised if others decide that your opinions are as worthless as your non-donations - hypocrites aren't worth listening to.

PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

Donate to FR
