The FAA controls all the air above 500 feet...have for a long time.
Yes and no. Depends if it’s controlled airspace. If it’s in class G then it’s open up to 14,500ft. See:http://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/handbooks_manuals/aviation/pilot_handbook/media/PHAK%20-%20Chapter%2014.pdf
With all due respect lacrew, patriots need to check every law and action of the corrupt federal government against the feds constitutionlly limited powers, most of these few powers listed in the Constitutions Section 8 of Article I.
And I can tell you right now that we are not going to find any clauses in Section 8 that reasonably justify the FAAs regulations, particularly since aviation technology was not invented when the Constitution was drafted.
Thomas Jefferson and James Madison had put it this way about the evil (my word) federal government.
I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations. - James Madison, Speech at the Virginia Convention to ratify the Federal Constitution (1788-06-06)
The system of the General Government is to seize all doubtful ground. We must join in the scramble, or get nothing. Where first occupancy is to give right, he who lies still loses all. - Thomas Jefferson to James Monroe, 1797.
