I'm not sure I understand why he is doubling down on denying what you can demonstrate with pieces of tape. Perhaps he sees that it's worked for other candidates. He could have easily have said circumstances have changed. We now have terrorism, infiltration and all of that and I have shifted over, which I think is a rather minor difference. But he's decided he is going to go whole hog on the other side.

That’s probably an oversimplification but the media is muddying the waters the best they can. They want to equate the two.
In any case I don’t believe that Cruz or in fact Trump believe we can kick 10 or 20 million people out of the country. But that doesn’t mean we need to give them all the rights of a U.S. citizen including the right to vote for Hillary for President. And it does mean that we need control of the border and not just a free flow of future Democrats into the country.
oooh...or better yet, instead of coming onto every thread trashing Cruz (especially for the BS, chicken-sh!t reasons you do), I challenge you to come onto these threads and talk about all of Trump’s fantastic conservative successes....all those things that show what a stand-up conservative donald trump is. You know, so you can sway some of those people on the fence, those folks who are concerned about everything he’s done in his whole bloviating life maybe pointing to his NOT being a conservative.
But you won’t accept the challenge. Instead you’ll bash Cruz or bash me or shoot any other messengers that come along...because that’s how you trumpeters roll.

Sorry, if there is one thing Dr Krauthammer is, it is smart.
Krauthammer is pretending to be stupid on this issue and doing a great job of it.
We can’t stop all crime, doesn’t mean we give up entirely.
It’s actually pretty simple.
Cruz fought the Gang of 8, including Rubio.
He proposed a poison pill amendment to their legislation to expose the aims of their bill to provide citizenship and voting rights to illegals.
He spoke eloquently in support o the poison pill at the time, and he did so trying to get the dems to support it. But he knew their support was very unlikely because it would have removed those voting rights, and in not supporting it, they exposed their own intentions.
It was a parliamentarian maneuver and it worked.
Now Rubio and others are trying to say that Cruz’s bill was actually in support of legalizing illegals. But they know what happened and they are simply afraid of Cruz and trying to sue this against him.
IMHO, it is not going to work. Too many of us know the truth and are willing t says so.

It is not the law of the land and Senator Jeff Sessions, the GOLD STANDARD for immigration, the guy that schools both Trump and Cruz, has said that Cruz stood shoulder to shoulder with Sessions against the gang of 8 immigration bill.
He also said that anyone with half of a brain knew that Cruz' Amendment was a POISON PILL, and no one but a fool would have said it out loud at the time.
I therefore rescind my agreement with your position of yesterday, declare myself to be stupid, and you can withdraw your statement of respect.
Cruz was even smarter than I knew. He was practicing the art of the double secret probation.

The long knives are out and slashing erratically, this is so much like what they were attempting to do with Reagan, it didn’t work then hopefully it will not work now, but as you have seen on these immigration battle threads between Cruz and Rubio more than a few conservatives are happy to join in with the long knives crowd, I would like to plead forgive them, they know not what they do, but our Republic is hanging by a very thin thread and it seems these conservatives are all to willing to slash wildly without regard to that thread, what ever reasoning they provide for joining in the attack only demonstrates their ignorance, yeah they know not what they do.
Rubio voted for, Cruz voted against the rest of this is just useless noise.
