179-count indictment/information, eight counts of murder, 131 attempted first-degree murder charges, no counts of bank robbery. The kook made 18 separate outbursts in court including, "I'm guilty. There's no trial. I'm a warrior for the babies." Insists he's sane, despite comments of his attorney. Video of one outburst is at the link. What a whackado.

Yep, all the momentum against PP from the videos has been stopped dead in its tracks by the actions of one obviously “touched” idiot.

Sounds like he took gender identifying rather seriously.

Super hyperbolic maternal instinct. Since he knows he cant be a mother he's out to protect the ones that have no protection.

Well duh....But he still killed them and he knew what he was doing. That’s why he happened to have a gun with him....a big, bad gun.

The defendant said to the courtroom:”Do you know who this is?
This is the lawyer who defended the Batman shooter.” Turns out, he is correct. Would a lawyer who handled a complex, tragic case as The Joker, seek to represent another mass shooter? Or was he assigned this case?

He was assigned. They obviously needed a lawyer capable of representing a defendant in a multiple murder case. Given that the attorney got Batman a life sentence rather than the death penalty, Dear could have done far worse.

You can look at the fruitcake and tell he’s a lunatic. Oh. Sorry. That’s profiling.

Either Dear is a 100% lunatic or one of the best actors I’ve seen. Time will tell.

When facing a death penalty, it isn’t a bad strategy to act crazy in court.

Has anyone seen a timeline and map regarding this shooting? At this point I still don’t know what actually happened and how it played out.

Is it true that all of the victims were shot outside the PP building? Is it true there were no victims from PP?

Robert Dear's lawyer is Dan King.

King got James Eagan Holmes "12 life sentences in prison without the possibility of parole, and an additional 3,318 years".

Colorado has better summer weather than North Carolina, and the state prison is fairly new and has some amazing views. Multiple life sentences means food, housing, medical care and daily exercise at taxpayer expense for the next 20 or 30 years. Dear is bat**** crazy so they won't execute him, or at least it will take 20-30 ears to do so.

All in all, it's a better retirement plan than most 57 year olds have.

This is one that ought be pled out. As you say, he is nuts, and the trial will be a colossal waste of resources for both sides.
