Can’t imagine that going over well back then.
Nowadays, the bad guy has a 50/50 chance of getting away with it (No Country For Old Men, et al.), but it’s made movies less predictable (and certainly more realistic).
I was just talking about the movie “The Bad Seed”.
In the Broadway play, the little girl gets away with murder. Sever of them.
In the movie, they knew a general audience wouldn’t stomach that, so they blew the little girl up with a lightning bolt from heaven in the very last scene.
