I have a lot of problems with the Benghazi committee, such as the right-wing canard suggesting that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the CIA are somehow responsible for the tragic 2012 death of U.S. Ambassador to Libya J. Christopher Stevens. But I also have problems with people who dismiss the Benghazi hearings in their entirety as nothing more than a partisan witch hunt, which is the standard approach by most big media.
To take one recent example, The Washington Post’s Dana Milbank, in a typically insufferable column, whined about how much the committee was focusing on longtime Clinton confidant Sidney Blumenthal (who before becoming a political assassin was a journalist who worked for publications such as the Post, The New Republic and The New Yorker). Fortunately, the heroic Hillary Clinton, whose October 23 testimony before the committee was the focus of Mr. Milbank’s column, “refused to get riled.â€
Faulting the Benghazi committee for scrutinizing Mr. Blumenthal is like saying the Warren Commission was preoccupied with Lee Harvey Oswald.
In fact, Sidney Blumenthal is all over the Benghazi affair. And Ms. Clinton’s long, strange, close relationship to this shadowy and increasingly untrusted figure might just keep her from winning the White House.

He was paid from the Clinton Foundation. What charitable work (setting up private oil deals with the clintons) was he doing.. NONE.
He was advising Clinton on policies involving MURDERING Khadaffy, who by the way was providing information useful in the fight against Al Queda and ISIS. So why did Clinton set him up to be murdered when he and his family volunteered to leave peacefully.
The intel community knew two months in advance of the planned attack on the Ambassador including a kidnapping plot by Morsi. So why did State and Obama give $5 billion in aid to Morsi..??
Why did Clinton use Al Queda to “guard” the Ambassador or was he unknowingly tracked until the kidnapping..??
If it were not for the CIA security people, 35+ additional people would have been killed. And who told them to “stand down”. That has never been revealed.
Why were ALL OF THE CIA PEOPLE threatened with loss of job and pension if they spoke publicly about Benghazi..?? What is being covered up?? We already know 65 0 tons of weapons was shipped from Benghazi to ISIS via Turkey ... What else is being covered up?
Why was Blumenthal privy to classified State information (intercepted by Grucifier, a Romanian hacker) and why was he discussing classified info and policy on Hillary’s insecure email server..??
Blumenthal was the business agent for the Clintons in Lybia. Hillary was focused on her personal wealth and negligent in doing her job. That is why Blumenthal is significant... People were MURDERED as a result...
PLUS A PROMISE WAS MADE TO THE FAMILIES...... and even though Hillary and Obama know who did the murders ... NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO BRING THEM TO JUSTICE...

That first sentence is quite a whopper! Who else would you “suggest” was responsible for those deaths?
During the Monica Lewinsky investigation in 1998, Sidney Blumenthal was called to testify behind closed doors (I forget if it was before Ken Starr or someone else). He had a little press conference afterwards and flat out lied about what he had been asked. Those who had been in the room were not at liberty to correct his version. That was helpful to the Clintons.
E-mails show Hillary Clinton wanted Blumenthal hired at State. But the idea was nixed by Rahm Emanuel b/c of Blumenthals attacks on Obama during the campaign. Despite Hillary telling the Congressional Benghazi committee that Blumenthal was not my adviser, official or unofficial, records show the Clinton political machine paid him at least $320,000 a year.......the money-to burn Clinton Foundation paid Blumenthal $10,000 a month to ballyhoo the legacy of Bill Clinton. (waiting for hysterical laughter to die down).
But Sid was pocketing bigtime from other suckers eager to cash-in:
Fox News reported Blumenthal was also paid $200,000 a year by Media Matters, an aggressive pro-Clinton information outlet led by David Brock. Blumenthal provided inside info, high-level strategy and messaging advice to Brock, and others.
However, there appears to be a cover-up. There is no paper trail showing Blumenthal at the Clinton Foundation or at Media Matters, and both organizations did not respond to media requests for clarification. But Blumenthals labors for Hillary Clinton are evident in hundreds of private e-mails.
Blumenthals highly unusual work arrangement was a triple play fraught with potential conflicts of interest:
<><> He simultaneously advised the secretary of state (a possible future president);
<><> he promoted the interests of Bill Clinton as the former president scoured the globe seeking millions of dollars in honoraria, donations to the Clinton Foundation, consultancies and lucrative insider deals;
<><> he provided advice to an organization devoted to destroying their enemies.
Blumenthal cast a wide net as a defacto Clinton ambassador (some might say bagman), promoting dubious business deals and political schemes. The Hillary/Blumenthal e-mails reveal several shady examples:
A LIBYAN CONTRACT--Blumenthal promoted a deal sought by his employer, US defense contractor, Osprey Global Solutions. According to its Web site, Osprey offers a wide variety of services including security, training, armaments and the sale of assault rifles. Chairman Trey Gowdy noted Blumenthal acknowledged a personal stake in Osprey.
In hundreds of pages of e-mails (that Hillary strove to keep hidden), Blumenthal served as Secy Clintons primary adviser on Libya; he pushed her hard to intervene using US govt power and our tax assets.
Blumenthal and his business partners profits depended on a "new" Libyan govt---so Blumenthal goaded Hillary into using the power of the US govt, the State Dept and tax assets into bringing Khadafy down.
“Heroic Hillary Clinton”? Oh please. Author can’t be taken seriously.
