Sad. Bob Dole was a War Hero (World War II), who by the time he ran for President in 1996, was obviously over the hill, and ran a low energy campaign. Shortly thereafter, he reentered the public view, running Viagra adds. The Nineteen years since he ran for the office, have obviously not rejuvenated his judgement.

It is sad that the Bush campaign would misuse an aged war hero in this manner. Really, common sense--in short supply in the Jeb Bush campaign--should have prevented this misuse of a basically decent man.

I could almost but not quite pity Jeb for this endorsement. Did Bob Dole say “ Bob Dole endorses Jeb”? His speaking of himself that way was creepy.

Dole was much more of a war hero than John McCain and did far less damage to the country politically. Remember that he had the decency to resign his senate seat when he ran for president. And I think he actually wanted to win and not just throw the election. Huge difference.
