Ben Carson was put on the defensive on Thursday, with reporters pressing him about a series of reports that have sprung up questioning the factual accuracy of his past statements.
As Carson has gained in the polls, so has media scrutiny of the 64-year-old retired pediatric neurosurgeon and Republican presidential candidate, whose past and present statements have drawn no shortage of curiosity and interest.
On Thursday, during a stop on his book tour, Carson was pressed on everything from a report that questioned past claims of his physical violence toward others, an interview in which he appeared to struggle with the complexities of Cuban immigration policy in South Florida, and a rediscovered past speech in which he expressed his belief that the Great Pyramids of Giza were constructed by the biblical figure Joseph to store grain, not pharoahs' tombs.
A CNN reporter in particular tried to pry more details out of Carson after the network published a report titled "A tale of two Carsons" in which it could not corroborate the candidate's past claims in his books that he had acted violently in his childhood and adolescence toward his family and others - claims that are part of Carson's narrative of personal redemption.
Asked to be more specific about when the incidents occurred, Carson listed them in detail. "One of the ones where I threw a rock and broke someone's glasses, that occurred when I was maybe about 7 or 8, the stabbing, attempted stabbing incident occurred when I was 13 or 14, the - what's another incident? Give me another one," Carson asked a scrum of media on CNN in Miami during a book signing tour. "Trying to hit my mom in the head with a hammer? That was around the same time as the stabbing incident."

If this stuff does not work and he is the nominee, Hillary’s backup plan is to warn people that all black presidents have been total failures and Carson will not be an exception.
If you are talking about his new book I don't thinks so as his story was told about his life in the book GIFTED HANDS the Ben Carson story. This book was published Date: 12/01/1996. He told about stabbing the boy way back then.
There is also a movie on YouTube called Gifted Hands of which I have watched and if you ask me I think he is a very talented and gifted person. Also his mother deserves praise for having raised her sons to become the gifted people they are.
The media is trying to Herman Cain Dr. Carson. This headline is only “believed” by the left. They want to turn a man who expresses a Christian faith into a liar with mental issues. However bad you think Dr. Carson is, he would be far better than Obama or Hillary or Bernie. He’s not my choice but don’t fall for this garbage. I think we are going to find out that a lot of things about the good doctor are not exactly as they originally seemed.
This is a non-issue. If this is all anyone can complain about that proves that there is nothing here to see. I am not a Carson supporter, but its not because of his opinion about the pyramids. He is not a loon because he thinks they could have had another purpose. Who cares? Are we so shallow in our thinking as a nation that we give credence to inconsequential statements made over 20yrs ago? Al Gore claims to have created the internet. Mrs. Clinton lies about getting off of a plane in another country ducking and running to avoid gunfire. We were told that if we like our insurance plan we can keep it. And on it goes. This is nothing. Nothing. Anyone making an issue of this is the loon not Dr. Carson.
The good Dr. Carson does not speak like that. You are a vile bigot. All sorts of people got a lot of heart on message boards, but I bet you wouldn’t dare say that publicly. Maybe you are just jealous. Maybe you are just trolling.
