Carson was truthfully denying being a director of Mannetech which is the type of association the moderator was deceptively implying he had. He openly stated that he had made paid speeches for the company.
Fair enough. I think it is relevant from the standpoint of whether or not he uses reason to think things through. This opinion, regardless of when it was held, is a red flag if he still believes it. And is cause for pause that he actually seriously held it.
But that is just me.
Someone should ask him if he still stands behind this theory today.
And how old the earth is.
Well, I never heard this grain theory before, but a quick search shows that his theory isn’t so unusual:
According to various blogs and websites, the Step Pyramid of Djoser was first used for grain storage and later converted into a tomb. (?) He seems to be advancing a creationist’s (?) viewpoint in that speech.
Whatever the case, Carson made the statement 17 years ago.
It’s obvious, he was lobbying for archer-daniels, even then.
It would have been better for him if he had never said it, but I think the voters are finally fed up with non issues bs like this. Every candidate has some sort of dumb comment or major or minor scandal in his/her past, Hillary having the most and Trump probably second or third behind Sanders.
At least he wasn’t in favor of single-payer healthcare in 1998. Or a 14.25% wealth tax in 1998, or partial birth abortion in 1998. I mean, who could be that dumb? I’d much rather vote for someone with imaginative ideas about archaeology than anyone who would endorse single-payer healthcare.
“An old statement on an irrelevant issue.”
An old statement?
What is the statute of limitations on statements?
Heck of an effort just to store grain.
If Ted Cruz told me that “Dinosaurs had Houses” I’d consider voting for Trump, and seek out Ted’s connection.
A brain surgeon is many steps above any politician.
Since the insides are 90% stone, I doubt they were for storage of anything. On the other hand, for “tombs” they are uncharacteristically spartan in their decor, as in they have none. Egyptian tombs are full of paintings and hieroglyphs, except these most important ones of all. In fact, there are no names of pharaohs in any of them, those have been inferred from minor objects found outside. I think it’s reasonable to question whether they were tombs after all. But if not, what?
He is on some kind of mood alerting drugs. It is very disturbing to see it, and even more disturbing when you meet him, which I have.
“What? Is he trying to loose support?”
Yes, all the way back in 1998, he knew he would be running for
president so he threw this out there in the hopes of ruining
his bid for president.
This is just the beginning for Carson. He is totally unvetted and never thought about politics until recently. I’m sure there is a gold mine on him.
The only true conservative in this race has been Cruz. Rest of them are fraud. The biggest mouth is the biggest fraud, while the smallest mouth is close second.
