Every single one of my ancestors have worn combat boots for the Stars & Stripes since 1776 and fought in every war (except Korea). Dad’s family came here in 1667. The home still stands as a NY State landmark.
My great uncle has a now retired Destroyer named after him.

I figured you were the kind to bask in reflected glory. I'd never do anything like that, especially if my accomplishments paled in comparison to theirs. The analogy is to a Rockefeller scion shaking a tin cup at the corner of the World Trade Center, bragging about his ancestors. Their accomplishments are not his and, of course, his failures are not theirs.
