Carson edges Trump in national poll

Ben Carson has edged out fellow GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump in a new national poll, taking the top spot from the real estate mogul for the first time in months.

Carson is supported by 26 percent of GOP primary voters, followed by Trump at 22 percent, according to the CBS News/New York Times poll released early Tuesday. All other candidates follow in the single digits, with Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) at 8 percent and businesswoman Carly Fiorina and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 7 percent each.

The poll represents growing momentum for Carson, who surpassed Trump in several polls in the early voting state of Iowa over the past week ahead of the next GOP debate on Wednesday.

"Ben Carson is now doing well," Trump acknowledged on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" after the poll came out, adding that he believed Carson would see more scrutiny as a front-runner.

Well it won’t be Carson. Hillary would trounce him

You must consider the possibility that that's exactly why it WILL be Carson.

It’s just the usual attempt to try to generate support for the not Trump candidate. Just like they did with Carly and Rubio.

Right now Carson is all they have left.

You will also notice how the media hasn’t generated any polls where Cruz is that candidate in 2nd place. They want to take down Trump, but with the most easily beatable candidate in the general election.

What EVIDENCE does anyone have that these polls just aren’t made up? They could publish numbers pulled right out of their hindquarters and no one would know the difference. (They lie about the news, why not lie about polls?)

“Carson would see more scrutiny as a front-runner”

And he’s gonna like like Carly 2.0.

“it is unwise to overlook the fact that Dr Ben has the finest intellect and control of the language of any candidate in modern memory”

You honestly have no idea how campaigns work in the 21st century.

I have a hunch that these polls that show Carson leading are complete lies, but that is what the Leftists in the media do best.

The media wants to shape opinion away from Trump and on to Carson or another Pubbie contender that has a good chance of losing to Hillary.

There is something inherently wrong here. Carson is not even currently campaigning. He's on a book tour. To be campaigning even less, he'd have to go home and perhaps mow his lawn. Talk about the non-politician. This guy is the non-candidate non-politician.

It’d be great to see LTC Allen West team up with Trump for the 2016 ticket.

When Carson makes campaign appearances, do you see big crowds? I don’t or have not. If you have links showing me these crowds, please do so. TY

Donald Trump....beware of polling information and results. I would not put anything past the media, Obama, Clinton, the Democrat Party, the Republican Establishment RINOS, getting together in cahoots to do you in, I am not saying to disregard the polling....but you have got to be on your toes, 100% of the time!!! The Washington Elite Scum, in conjunction with the Mainstream Media, wants to destroy you, politically, using any means, legal and illegal!!! They know their world will come to an abrupt end...the minute you are elected POTUS. Stay strong....you will win...go right to the American people....forget the media!!!

Ans...for goodness sake......stree the attack on our police by the Obama, Clinton, Democrat vermin!!!

Carson shares the same goals for social justice that Al Sharpton has by his own statement. Bill and Hillary are said to have high intelligence and can certainly talk but I don’t want either. Carson will keep the racial tensions going that need to heal! He will never have my vote.

Trump’s problem is that he sounds like a buffoon when he runs his mouth too much. The NY accent does not help either. Carson is very soft spoken and does not have that problem. He sounds rational and agreeable even if he is saying something you don’t agree with.

Well, the size of the crowds that Trump draws versus the other candidates is a pretty good indicator that the polls showing him in the lead are correct. Indeed, I think they understate his lead, if anything.

and yet, not understanding has produced a candidate that has slowly but surely delivered a message that has been favorably received and gathered followers.

Dr Ben has put those like you that think they understand in the 5% dust

I don’t. I like Carson as much as Trump. I am voting for neither. It is the media and the GOP establishment and the pollsters I don’t trust. Everyone has been out to get Trump. This is just a new way to do it. I have seen the abuse of polling too many times before. Take the homo marriage issue. Most of the states were polling like the amendments would not pass only they did pass. Then after they passed the media kept polling and saying opinions have changed and now people favor homo marriage. It was all manipulation.

You see the same thing during every election cycle. They also manipulate on the day of elections — like when they called Florida for Gore when the polls in the Florida panhandle hadn’t closed yet. Of course the panhandle is a conservative area and telling them Bush had already lost was a way to tell them they didn’t need to vote.

How large are the crowds at Carson rallies compared to Trump’s?

For the umpteenth million time, crowd size measures intensity - not depth of support. Sanders draws much bigger crowds than Hillary most of the time, yet he doesn't stand a chance of being their nominee. If crowd size mattered Ron Paul would be President along with President Nader and President McGovern.

I don't think Carson is even campaigning at the moment, he is off on some book tour. Some thing or event obviously happened to boost Carson at the expense of Trump, I suspect it was those stupid quasi truther 9-11 comments "the Donald" made.

I haven’t seen one way or the other. If you have pictures showing that he only draws small crowds please show these. I don’t particularly like or dislike either candidate so I don’t really have a dog in that fight.
