Ben Carson has edged out fellow GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump in a new national poll, taking the top spot from the real estate mogul for the first time in months.
Carson is supported by 26 percent of GOP primary voters, followed by Trump at 22 percent, according to the CBS News/New York Times poll released early Tuesday. All other candidates follow in the single digits, with Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) at 8 percent and businesswoman Carly Fiorina and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 7 percent each.
The poll represents growing momentum for Carson, who surpassed Trump in several polls in the early voting state of Iowa over the past week ahead of the next GOP debate on Wednesday.
"Ben Carson is now doing well," Trump acknowledged on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" after the poll came out, adding that he believed Carson would see more scrutiny as a front-runner.

Nope, this poll was of “adults”. That means nothing.
Carson will devour the lame brained hillary and spit out pieces of her scripted message
it is unwise to overlook the fact that Dr Ben has the finest intellect and control of the language of any candidate in modern memory
he will take any progressive utterance and use it to destroy her
she will not know she has been stabbed with his supersharp stiletto mind until the moment she dies
The sample is 1200+ adults with 1100+ registered voters. This has little or nothing to do with the Republican primary.
Cruz is a 4% which is nonsense, most low info voters don’t know about him and dems fear him. IT is very bad for Bush. This is the sort of poll that Bush should do well in people don’t want a third Bush as President. Not great for Trump due to his high name recognition.
Dr Carson is also highly skilled in the use of bricks, knives, rocks and baseball bats.
What is Carson saying that is drawing more people to him in the polling? How large are the crowds at Carson rallies compared to Trump’s?

We need a strong, brilliant steam roller like Trump to go in to Washington, slap down the sorry RINOs, deal with the muzzies (before they take over and kill us all) and clean up the mess Omuslim has made that has almost destroyed America and our way of life. Such BS. And all 14 people at a Carson rally have to be really quiet and struggle to hear the low-talker.
Something tells me the establishment is pulling out all the stops to put the skids on Trump’s bid for the nomination, and Carson is their last opportunity.

Don’t you believe it for a second. This from the NY Times, which doesn’t even have a nodding acquaintance with the truth. You could talk to the nearest drunk on a bus station bench and get more credible information.

how many people polled know what Carson’s views are on ANYTHING?.. I don’t even know and I watched both debates and pay pretty close attention to the process
