Public education is more about Union benefits now than anything else.
Everything else is secondary.
There is nothing else (to them); they are an entitled class as much as urban welfare recipients.
They are the de facto owners of the Democratic Party, and the structure is awesome: Agents in every locality in the country, with costs borne by the local taxpayers and funneled directly to party coffers...
