My comments were posted on the other thread, but basically went sometime like, what is he supposed to say? He’s running for President. Is he supposed to just say well, yes, of course Trump is going to win, I’m juts in this to make money?
I do think Trump will prevail, though, and the comments about where Cruz is polling now I think would be a concern to the campaign, notwithstanding the financial support received.
The question I have is, what happens to the money the candidate receives while running if they drop out?
You may have a point. As much as we the public pretend to expect and to reward honest in out politicians, most would hear Cruz’s supportive Trump remarks as a point of his surrender. We expect the competitors to either directly oppose each other and compete, or outmanuver their opponent.
Some conservatives probably already think Ted has been acting too much like Trumps running mate or supporter.

There are rules about what they can do with that money. They can use it to pay off campaign debts, they can hold on to it for future campaigns, they can donate it to political parties and charities, or they can give limited amounts to other political campaigns.
