Politico Magazine published an excerpt from Ambassador Dennis Ross latest book Doomed to Succeed: The USIsraeli relationship from Truman to Obama, which highlighted how President Barack Obama succeeded with the Iran Deal at the expense of the two allies relationship.
According to Ross, National Security Adviser Susan Rice told the national director of the Anti-Defamation League Abe Foxman that in reacting to the deal, which Israel knew little about, Netanyahu did everything but use the n-word in describing the president.
In his book, Ross argues that It didnt have to play out that way.
From the outset of his presidency, Obama was focused on establishing what became known as the dual- track approach to Iran and its nuclear program: Be prepared to deal directly with the Iranians but also build our leverage with them. Engagement put pressure on the Iranians in two ways. First, talking to the United States created deep fissures in the Iranian elite. Second, if the Iranians balked at dealing directly with us, it made it far easier for us to mobilize sanctions against them. The hope was to alter Irans behavior through negotiations, but if the Iranians would not engage at all, or engaged but would not budge, we would then be able to garner international pressure on them to change course.
Israel was very much a factor in this approach. To forestall Israeli military action against what Israelis perceived as an existential threat, the president understood we needed to show we could apply meaningful pressure on the Iranians that would alter their nuclear program. In his first meetings with Netanyahu, in May 2009, Obama explained the logic of the dual trackwhich necessarily had to start with the effort at engagement. When Netanyahu asked how much time we would give engagementclearly fearing that the Iranians might just string us along as they proceeded with their nuclear developmentObama told him that if nothing happened before the end of the first year, we would pivot toward sanctions. To add to the credibility of our pressure on Iran, the president wanted the Israelis to understand that he meant it when he said that all options are on the table.
Still, the way the Obama administration limited Israels knowledge of the deal, this harmed the relationship between the two allies far more than [the U.S.] needed to.
Yeah like I am going to belie the stooge the 0 regime totted out after Benghazi to push the fable it was all a reaction to a video.
Ok. Now they’re ... Ugh
What’s the countdown?
Jan 20? 2017
So the race card works for foreign policy too? Cool.
If he did NOT use the word “nigger,” WHY is she bringing it up?
What a pitiful piece of twisted shit she is....
How informative Susie. Netanyahu didn’t use the “N” word. What else didn’t Netanyahu say?
I would not believe a single thing this woman says.
And the Bret bairs and Kevin McCarthys ought to just go right to this kind of crap for the overturning of this Romney bush testosterone challenged GOP
he also didnt call Obie a Prancing lil Leather Fairy!!
....like certain RAT magazines did with CONDI RICE.
It was only a matter of time before not using the n word made you a racist.
These people are clowns.
I’d still trust Netanyahu over Obama if Bibi did call zero the “n” word.
Any criticism of he who must not be criticized is taken as a racial thing.
I despise liberals, democRATS and progressives.
On the flip-side, you can be assured that Obama referred to BB with antisemitic terms...
That was probably Putin.
Meaning, he did not use the term. But she'll accuse him of it anyway while acknowledging that he didn't do it. But he's guilty because she knows he wanted to.
This is how obamists defend their policies. You're a racist. Even if you aren't, you are.
“What’s the countdown? Jan 20? 2017?”
They may not be gone by then.
There are lots and lots of junior-high-schoolers to take their place in every position of government, from local to national.
(How irritating and disheartening.)
Says a professional liar.
