Cruz is and Trump will never make it. I like Trumps in your face style and the points he brings up but I’m not seeing him as the nominee.
Plan: flat tax — a system where every taxpayer, regardless of income level, pays the same tax rate and abolish the IRS.

I saw a link, earlier today, that had some of his thoughts....from back in April...with a promise to abolish the IRS and to be coming out with a detailed tax plan within the next few weeks. Again, that was April.
If you do have a link for his detailed, posted plan, please let us know. I may have missed it.
Also, let’s see how that abolish the IRS *red meat* works out. I agree...who wouldn’t love to see that happen? Back in Realville, that has about as much chance as Ron Paul had abolishing the Fed.

It won’t work (to eliminate the IRS while still having a flat tax.) Income tax needs “income determination”. If you have a “simple” income, say, a weekly paycheck, and little else, then income determination is easy. (There’d still need to be a much reduced IRS to ensure honest reporting.) But, if one has costs included in how they make their income (reducing it), income determination can get very hairy, very quickly.
For example, once I get my Federal Schedule C filled out, I’m “almost done”, but the related forms and work to get to that point takes me nearly a week, not counting accounting work done during the tax year. And I’m just a stinky little 1-person (plus a little help from my wife at times) business...
