If You Live in These States You’ll Soon Need a Passport for Domestic Flights

If you don’t have a passport already, you may need to get one soon.

Residents of certain states are going to need to show their passports — rather than simply their IDs — even if they’re only flying domestic.

Yes, it will infringe upon states’ rights handed to them by the 10th Amendment and create unnecessary cost to taxpayers in order to implement the change, but let’s be real — the government doesn’t care about that.

From Zero Hedge:

To comply with the 2005 Real ID Act, which the U.S. government has been slowly implementing for the past decade, citizens in a number of different U.S. states will now be forced to obtain a passport if they want to board an airplane – even for domestic flights.

The Department of Homeland Security and representatives with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection have declined to comment on why certain states have been singled out, but starting in 2016, residents of New York, Wisconsin, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire, and American Samoa will need a passport to fly domestically. All other states will still be able to use their state-issued driver’s licenses and IDs — for now, at least.

An internal passport is an identity document that may or may not be used by a country to control and monitor the internal movement and residence of its people. Internal passports have been used by Imperial Russia and its successor states, France, the Confederate States of America, the Soviet Union, the Ottoman Empire, South Africaduring apartheid, and other countries. Countries that currently have internal passports include Russia, China, Iraq, and Ukraine.

Shame on these states for shortchanging their residents with substandard drivers licenses that causes this result, which will be expensive to state residents. Sure glad I no longer live in New York ( thought I already had passport).

It doesn't make sense to me, getting a NH drivers license requires all kinds of proof of identity, etc. Probably more than in the typical liberal meccas.

California and all states giving drivers licenses and identification cared to illegal aliens should be on that list. California gives ID’s to illegals based on information coming from the Mexican consulates, Mexican matricula cards. They are not secure ID. Any terrorist could get one. I have my passport. I am ready.

how about when you go to vote ?.....

In order to vote , one should be caused to first swear a loyalty oath , facing the flag , with a hand on the Bible ;
AND show ID

Perhaps a civics awareness competency test and a drug test for pre-voting registration as well
