President Obama, in a historic first for the Pentagon, has chosen to nominate Eric Fanning to lead the Army, a move that would make him the first openly gay civilian secretary of one of the military services.
Fannings nomination is the latest in a series of actions taken by the administration to advance the rights of gays and lesbians throughout the federal government. The Obama administration has overhauled internal policies to provide benefits to same-sex partners, appointed gay men and lesbians to the executive branch and the federal bench and ended the 18-year ban on gays serving openly in the military.
Fanning, who must still be confirmed by the Senate, has been a specialist on defense and national security issues for more than 25 years in Congress and the Pentagon. As Army secretary, he would be partnered with Gen. Mark Milley, who took over as the Armys top general in August. Together the two men would assume responsibility for the Pentagons largest and most troubled service.

One the local newspaper video clip link, I watched a video of the latest local “Gay Pride” parade here which just happened here. In addition to the typical prancing and dancing and lewdness, simulated sex acts and naked bodies, I was distressed to see that they had both Navy and Army units marching in formation in the parade. The Army participants in particular looked distressed to be there. Sad what our armed forces are being forced to do to underwrite the homosexual lifestyle.
And they thought Caligula was crazy for appointing his Horse to the Senate.
I think I would have to use some Germ-X after shaking his hand.
He’ll bend over and take it without lube...-
“every day, O works to weaken America, American defenses, Americas economy and jobs, Americas morals, American morale, and our allies.
Every single day.”
Very true. But the Constitution provides checks and balances and remedies for dereliction of duty up to treason itself.
Why does the Congress and the courts not stop it? They have the power to. Is fear of the media and/or political correctness so strong they will allow their country to die?
Will the Pentagon be lit up with rainbow lighting to celebrate his appointment?
Will the Pentagon be lit up with rainbow lighting to celebrate his appointment?
Can Rainbow-Colored tanks be far behind.
It was Air Force. And no. Definitely NOT GOOD.
Will the leftist USSC allow a conservative president to demand the “secretary”’s resignation in 2017?
Only fitting that the first closeted sodomite President should make this choice.
This is another step to make sure the military will never turn on Obama and will follow orders to fire on the unruly subjects if they are insufficiently worshipful of Dear Leader.
apparently O’s backers have something serious on Boehner
(and he is in the key position stopping Articles of Impeachment, Congressional investigations of wrongdoing including treason and sedition, or even the use of Congress’ Power of the Purse to control or limit O’s damage to America)
and similarly, O’s people obviously have something serious on a couple of the Supremes
figure out how to threaten or intimidate just a small handful of people in key positions
and you have effectively neutered the American Constitution and seized dictatorial power
Obama is contemptible.
I’m willing to give a horse a job. My aunt has a couple of fairly intelligent ones.
This can only end badly.
“Fanning.....I know that name from some previous story about the Army and it was not good.”

Maybe you’re thinking about Bradley “Chelsea” Manning, the soldier who gave secrets to Wiki Leaks.
I wonder if Zer0 remembers the story of Nicolae Ceaucescu??
This faggot has never even served in any branch of service.

No matter. He sucks at his job and Obama is nominating him.
There were a lot of words invented for Obama, none of which are proper for FR.
That's for sure. I think I push the limits sometimes with my descriptive adjectives.
