The demand that all LEOs be videographed at all times predictably falls under the heading of “careful what you wish for” for the criminal element.
Would it be too much trouble for the author to go to social media and verify whether the claim was made????
Either he said it, or he didn't.
And this is why both law enforcement and the public should want police officers to record all of their actions involving the public. It protects both the public and the police.
What a lot of us have been saying , that body video is every LEO’s best friend.
The PD in my city has dash and body cams. They seem to like it quite well, as it protects them in incidents like this. One story I heard was that a citizen was alleging one of our cops was cussing at him during a traffic stop, and did so in front of the judge during traffic court in a very huffy manner. Apparently the guy’s expression and demeanor changed markedly and immediately when the cop said “judge, I’d like to present this bodycam video of our interaction . . . “
Of course, it was the citizen who was cussing out the cop, and the cop was shown to be very professional.
Yeah, that guy didn’t get off light.
Looks like it was Pearland’s week to make the news. Our young men placed third in the Little League Baseball World Series and a former football player thought he could get by with lying about our policemen.
What surprises me most is that this guy could even drive anywhere in our city at that speed except maybe on 288 at 9 a.m. on Saturday because of all the traffic. Our cops are great guys. This guy was a jerk and should just pay his ticket. We need the revenue.
