Secretary of State John Kerry Signs United Nations Gun Ban Treaty Against Wishes of U.S. Senate

If U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has his way the United Nations will be able to say if Americans are allowed to have their Second Amendment rights. He has just signed an anti-gun treaty with the United Nations that the U.S. Senate has already said it is against.

The treaty Kerry signed without authorization from the Senate would create an un-Constitutional registry of all US gun buyers and would lead to the UN controlling American’s gun rights. Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday signed a controversial U.N. treaty on arms regulation, riling U.S. lawmakers who vow the Senate will not ratify the agreement.

Make sure you call your Congressmen and tell them to move on this fast because if they DO NOT reject this with in so many days (I think) it because law. This needs to get to the floor and voted down!

Since when does John F’n Kerry and the U N have the power to take away our Second Amendment rights? Now this would be an issue to shut down the government over.

That's not true. The treaty does not become law unless and until the Senate specifically APPROVES it by a two thirds majority. It the Senate just ignored it, it would never become law.

Maybe, just maybe, but I doubt, this should be a wake up call on the Iran “deal”. Senators Cruz, Rubio, Gramnesty, Paul, et al where’s the outrage?

John Kerry is among a number of Administration appointees who need to spend their last days in small windowless cells for treason.

I am not aware of a Pocket Treaty provision in the Constitution. A TREATY requires advise and CONSENT of the Senate IIRC. If it is not a treaty, but a pact or agreement, then that’s something else.

Also, if I further recall, a treaty still does not take precedence over the Constitution.

I could be wrong, however. I am not innocent of such.

Even if the Senate were to approve this “treaty,” it still would have no legal validity.

It would require a Constitutional amendment to repeal the 2nd Amendment.

Of course, that doesn’t mean our totalitarian leftist government wouldn’t try to implement the “treaty” anyway.

Treason? The Executive Branch agrees with him. SCOTUS agrees with him. Our RINO castrated Congress agrees with him. 51% of the voters agree with him.

In an era of reconstruction/erasing and rewriting history, I'm more and more getting the impression that we're going to be the ones guilty of treason.

Wussy Mitch won’t do anything.

Seems to me that this is an impeachable offense and that the Drunken Golfer ought to have the House start action

Yeah. I know that won’t happen

There. Gave it a context.

You may be thinking of a pocket veto of a bill, which actually works in the reverse. A president is required to sign or veto a law within 10 days after passage. However, if he doesn’t sign the bill and ten days pass while Congress is not in session to receive it it’s effectively vetoed. No treaty can become law without ratification by a 2/3 majority vote of the Senate. Period.

No it does not become law unless the Senate ratifies it with 67 votes. Its never going to happen. The Senate sent Obama a letter over a year ago telling him they will never ratify. If he tries to move forward a Federal judge will stop him. He’s just being an agitator.

Over the years Presidents have signed many treaties that never got ratified by the Senate.
