Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has accused the Obama administration of withholding information from Congress pertinent to Russias violation of the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.
Cruz, a member of the Senates Armed Services Committee and a Republican 2016 presidential contender, wrote a letter to President Barack Obama on Friday demanding that he release a classified Pentagon report to Congress. He has requested a response from the White House no later than Sept. 1.
I am deeply concerned that the Obama administration has been withholding information it is obligated to provide to Congress to protect what it considers to be the presidents legacy achievements such as New START and the recent nuclear deal with Iran, Cruz told the Washington Free Beacon.
The State Department has confirmed that Russia has violated the treaty but has not released any specifics. According to the Free Beacon, U.S. officials have said it involves a cruise missile called the R-500.
Grave concerns of Russian compliance exist beyond the R-500 cruise missile, as Russia has potentially mislabeled intermediate missiles as intercontinental ballistic missiles, and fielded air defense systems that possess ground-to-ground ballistic capability, Cruz wrote in his letter. If true, these would not only constitute clear violations of the INF treaty, but present a material threat to the United States and our allies.
According to the Free Beacon, the Obama administration is blocking a Pentagon report that supposedly outlines the countrys responses to an INF Treaty violation.
According to former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), Congress needs the report in order to fix problems in the legislation.
As we look to the near-term future, we need to consider how were going to respond to Russias INF violations, Rogers, a former House Intelligence Committee chairman, said at an Air Force Association breakfast in July, according to the Free Beacon. Congress will not continue to tolerate the administration dithering on this issue.

Don’t use the term, “deeply concerned” Ted. Somebody on FR will accuse you of being a “Concern Troll”.
Same with all the Congressional investigations, the MSM yuk it up.
So.. if “Free Beacon” is the source...
What the hell does Beck’s “Blaze” have to do with anything?
This has been going on for about 6 years now.
Sure would be nice to have a constitutionalist in the White house going over the books.
I’d be more concerned about how and why we came about giving our Uranium to the Russians (for storage I guess).
Somebody has to at least try, Cruz knows obama will not respond and the rest of congress will be content to just let it slide.
Battling the enemy without and within... CRUZ 2016!
It was posted here this morning with low visibility.
Well the problem with “deeply concerned” and other such language is that Obama completely ignores it. Just as you and I would because we know full well that there are no consequences of any kind for not ignoring it. Their words are vacuous and therefore meaningless. Obama calls their bluff every time.
The Republicans are all talk and no action or substance. To date they have done nothing except blow hot air and babble endless rhetoric.
At what point will Republican voters demand results? We sent them there because they promised to stop Obama. Its their problem now to figure out how to do that. But hey, why do anything when you can talk you way into another term? The Republican base will never demand accountability and Obama and the Dems know it. The GOP has done nothing but Give Obama Power.
That doesn’t mean we need to give Mormon crazy-guy Beck hits for stealing material.
Ha, they are selling all our fresh water from the Great Lakes to China.
Ted doesn’t have enough political clout to move the dial. Deeply concerned is a weak statement.
I thought the lake levels were going up?
If lake levels are up (and they are) I see no problem selling to the Chinese and making some money.
Captain Obvious, please pick up the white courtesy phone....Captain Obvious.
Mark Levin, perhaps?????
Ted needs to stop being deeply concerned and start being “pissed off”.
If he wanted action he should’ve had Trump write it.
