Well I know it is to you LOL! Any fact is irrelevant when you believe in something so strongly all reason goes by the wayside.

Cruz has said something to the effect that you should look past a candidate who says they are conservative and ask them to SHOW you when they stood up for conservative principles and values. He advised that we look past the rhetoric and look at what a candidate has actually done.

Ted Cruz has a long record of fighting for the Constitution and Conservative values that started long before he was ever in the US Senate. But I know, it’s all irrelevant to you.

Some of these people here just move from one cult to another like they are changing socks.

Yup. Not that it's really any different than it has been in the past. I remember people jumping from candidate to candidate in the same way back in 2008 and 2012.

“Some kind of insane mania has taken over and many people don’t seem to be able to see reason.”

While I consider lowering the Medicare deductible for prescription drug coverage from $58.25 per year to $56.50 per year, as has been proposed by Jeb (but not Trump), I’m willing to let it go, this time around, in exchange for:

1) DEPORTING MILLIONS OF ILLEGALS

2) ENDING SANCTUARY CITIES

3) ENDING ANCHOR BABIES

4) SLOWING DOWN H1B’s

5) FORCING E-VERIFY

...because I feel some issues are a bit more important than others.

I am not talking about that. Cruz has been a fighter, don’t get it twisted. But we need a more gutteral, Pattonesque, good-old fashioned American @ss-kicking John Wayne here. That’s what Trump is delivering to the people, and why Cruz is following behind Trump like a stray beagle.

Whatever you say. Like I said. There is no point in arguing with insanity. You can’t reason a person out of a position that they didn’t use reason to get to in the first place.

So it’s “insanity” to point out facts? You name call like a Dem.

Fact is Cruz did not lead on immigration like Trump has and in fact has proposed a massive increase in H1B visas.

Fact is Cruz sacked up with Paul Amnesty Ryan two months ago to enable the Obama secret “trade” deals.

I’m not saying Cruz is not a good candidate. He’s probably the pick of the litter of the careerist pols. But before you insult others for supporting another candidate you need realize your candidate is not the perfect conservative candidate.

He is in support of more taxes for the wealthy which has proven to be a downer for the economy.

Did I miss something or did you?

Trump's five-step plan includes eliminating the estate tax and the corporate income tax, lowering the tax rate on capital gains and dividends, enacting a 20 percent tariff on all imported goods and creating a new, lower income tax rate structure.

The income tax would include a tax rate structure of
1 percent for up to $30,000;
5 percent for $30,000-$100,000;
10 percent for $100,000-$1,000,000; and
15 percent for income over $1,000,000.

He has said he would support a flat tax or the FairTax. All of these plans would eliminate or drastically change the iron grip of the IRS.

Trump will come around on this issue once he sees the firestorm such flippancy will generate.

In any event, Trump, like any other American governmental Executive, Judge, or Legislator, will have to be bound be what is Constitutional, not simply by the way he'd like things to be.

Ultimately, I don't think a President Trump would violate the Constitution in order to create any security policy; he'd defer to those who are more knowledgeable in such areas...

I sympathize, but you are shouting in the wilderness. The fight is lost. Small government conservatism is dead for now. The Trump candidacy is the nightmare I have dreaded. It is the culturally conservative, fiscally liberal one that will win every time. It is the old New Deal Democrat with a flat top haircut on the 4th of July. Trump is promising the great middle, the cultural conservatives, to get their jobs back from China, chase the day laborers out of Home Depot’s parking lot, and keep their entitlements in place. The average Trump voter is not looking for a return to Reagan, they want the America of Harry Truman. They are not interested in small government.

Yep--another peek at the left/authoritarian philosophy in the mind behind the speech. And remember that the New York way with the following is to confiscate and imprison. The I-have-mine folks won't be "all grandfathered in" at all.

Donald Trump on gun control:

http://www.ontheissues.org/donald_trump.htm#Gun_Control
Dems and Reps are both wrong on guns
It’s often argued that the American murder rate is high because guns are more available here than in other countries. Democrats want to confiscate all guns, which is a dumb idea because only the law-abiding citizens would turn in their guns and the bad guys would be the only ones left armed. The Republicans walk the NRA line and refuse even limited restrictions. Source: The America We Deserve, by Donald Trump, p.102 , Jul 2, 2000

For assault weapon ban, waiting period, & background check I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun. With today’s Internet technology we should be able to tell within 72-hours if a potential gun owner has a record. Source: The America We Deserve, by Donald Trump, p.102 , Jul 2, 2000

The following is Trump's support. They fear that Walker will cut funding for their jobs, and they refuse to consider that government defaults are likely in the near future.

He said on Hannity last week that he does not support a flat tax. He said he likes a graduated income tax where the wealthier pay a higher rate.

If you recall Cruz supported Rand Paul’s fillibuster on this issue.

Cruz cannot do much without support from other republicans and there seems to be little of that anymore for our side. He is wasting his time in this corrupt Senate.

Where have you been living lately? Obama is and hasn’t been bound by any Constitution. And no one in Congress is doing a dang thing about it. That is the problem. What makes you think Trump wouldn’t do the same?

What you believe he will do and what he will actually do are two different things. And from some of the things he has said I believe he will do what he wants. So I guess it all boils down to what one wants to believe regardless of the facts.

Didn’t name call nor did I call anyone insane. I called what is happening INSANITY and as Trump supporters have admitted, they are using emotion instead of logic to choose their candidate. That is insanity. It’s the same way Obama was elected and isn’t the definition of insanity doing the same thing expecting different results?

Cruz is not the GOPE’s candidate. He is not the same old same old.

I also never said my candidate was the perfect conservative. I said he is the best conservative that I chose by comparing records, statements, facts. I never was emotionally nor am I invested in any candidate. You can check my posting record for the times I criticized Cruz for votes I didn’t like.

I will not vote for a man for POTUS who has no conservative voting record at all to reflect their true beliefs. Made that mistake before and it didn’t turn out so well. (Ron Johnson) I believed he was a conservative as well. He stood up and spoke very vehemently against Obamacare. He wasn’t in Washington more than 10 minutes before he was hanging around McCain and voting with the other Rinos. Lesson learned.

I was called a dishonest person a couple of days ago by a Walker supporter. That was personal. I know the difference and I have not personally attacked anyone.

In the case of Obama, he is simply pandering to the people who elected him, which isn't difficult since they are of the same ilk.

In the case of Donald Trump and the issue of NSA intelligence gathering of private citizens' phone calls, Trump would be at odds with the very people who helped elect him, and if this constituency provided sufficient pressure and was vocal enough, I think he'd have an open mind to their concerns.

Furthermore, since Trump will be depending on a very pro-Constitutional bloc of voters in order to get elected, I think it's rather unlikely that he will constantly be seeking shortcuts around the Constitution in the manner of 0bama.

Additionally, in the wake of a Trump election, there would logically (and almost necessarily) be a wave of sentiment advocating for smaller, less intrusive government.

I just don't see Trump as someone who would attack traditional Constitutional principles in an effort to implement his policies. I think he would use the art of persuasion to reach some measure of consensus in cases where issues might be Constitutionally contentious.

In short, I think that business-as-usual political corruption and shortcut-taking would not be Trump's style.

I believe Trump wants to change the way Washington operates, and bring back accountability, austerity, and pride to the office of the Presidency.

Trump is simply very unlikely to fall into the behavior patterns which most establishment politicians operate within.

Whatever President Trump's specific policy preferences might be (and I'm sure I'd disagree with many of them), trying to claim that he would simply exhibit the same-old-same-old that we're used to seeing from the kleptocracy is quite the stretch, IMHO.
