Skip to comments.I Have Disinvited Donald Trump to the RedState Gathering
Posted on 08/07/2015 10:48:17 PM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife
I have tried to give a great deal of latitude to Donald Trump in his run for the Presidency.
He is not a professional politician and is known for being a blunt talker. He connects with so much of the anger in the Republican base and is not afraid to be outspoken on a lot of issues. But there are even lines blunt talkers and unprofessional politicians should not cross.
Decency is one of those lines.
As much as I do personally like Donald Trump, his comment about Megyn Kelly on CNN is a bridge too far for me.
In a CNN interview, Mr. Trump said of Megyn Kelly, You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever.
It was not the blood coming out of her eyes part that was the problem.
I think that is true. And Ive been very sympathetic to Donald Trump because so many of the people who have led the party astray refuse to even treat him as a legitimate candidate.
But I also think that while Mr. Trump resonates with a lot of people with his bluntness, including me to a degree, there are just real lines of decency a person running for President should not cross.
His comment was inappropriate. It is unfortunate to have to disinvite him. But I just dont want someone on stage who gets a hostile question from a lady and his first inclination is to imply it was hormonal. It just was wrong.
I have invited Megyn Kelly to attend in Donald Trumps place tomorrow night.

How gracious of you, Lord Erick.
We pray that we poor benighted Conservatives will merit such
sufferance, solicitude and forbearance from your exalted self.
We withdraw from your presence with a humble kow-tow
and a flatulent winding in your general direction.
Info on Erickson:
He’s a CNN commentator. Thats all I need to know. Here’s some info posted online about him. It could all be a fake profile though because it looks like it was just recently updated or put online about a week ago. I think I’ve come across the RedState website once before. After reading through it got the impression it was pushing leftist ideas in its articles while pretending to be a conservative blog.
But I could be wrong.
why not invite Rosie Odonnell too
“sounds like someone is a tad butt hurt”
Perhaps there wasn’t room for Trump to land his helicopter... or he was going to bring his own chef...
OR RUSH TOLD ERIC ERIKKSON TO DIS_INVITE TRUMP
“I have invited Megyn Kelly to attend in Donald Trumps place tomorrow night.”
lol. Erick and megyn are victimhoodlums.
A Great Viking laddie.
But you're not.
Erica Erikson drama queen.
I’m sure schmuckerberg is beating off to them.
Never had a facebook page. What happened to privacy. Rand paul is a maroon. The gestapo are rolling on the floor in Hell. The Gov. is teamed up with Mark.
What ever happened to one’s privacy?
That was no lady, Ericson.Very telling.
That her Aunt Flo was visiting.
Red state...subs for rush on occasion...a compassionate conservative...it seems..
I’ve been pulling away from Fox for several years now. I watch them when something goes down that catches my interest, but they are a shell of what they were 10 years ago, and even then they were not where I was, or am.
Mz Erikson can get fitted or pick up an off the shelf tu-tu in the short line on the LEFT.
(I believe that they will make a special one for you that can be used while cooking/barbie-quing, other infractions of rino hornless-ism)
The new face of Rush Limbaugh guest hosts...
QUIT PICKEN ON Megyn Kelly
Erik, dry your tears, it’ll ruin your bbq
Erick Erickson=Redstate.com=Salem Broadcasting=RINO Central
Like Ted Baxter ?
Disinviting Trump is one thing. Inviting Kelly as a replacement is another.
“Hasnt Erickson been bashing Trump from the beginning? Boo hoo”
I didn’t know the answer to your question so I looked on his site; found this from June:
“....There is one more thing I want you to know about Donald Trump. Ive met him and interviewed him before. When the camera was not on and the interview was not going, he was not The Donald. He was a guy who cared deeply for his staff and the people who merely walked in the front door of his building. I want you to know that the Donald Trump Ive seen in private is not the Donald Trump you see on stage because I think we are not going to see that Trump. Its our loss and it will be his own loss. The person, a separate entity from the personality, is a good man.
The reason I dont much care for Rick Santorum is that Ive seen him, off camera and behind the scenes when no one was supposed to be watching, behave like a spoiled and entitled rich kid snapping at people in a lower position than himself when he did not need to. Its also why I have a soft spot for Trump. From the same vantage point, Ive seen him behave kindly to people far lower on the rung of life than him when he did not have to. Character when the camera isnt rolling counts in my book.
Unfortunately for Trump, The Donald does not come across in public the way Mr. Trump does behind the scenes.”
That was my impression too.
