When will Jim banish Trump supporters from FR, like he did with Giuliani advocates? [JR @ 305]
one man's opinion...

Posted on 07/25/2015 2:15:15 PM PDT by ken5050

On 4/23/2007, Jim Robinson posted a manifesto, "Giuliani as the GOP presidential nominee would be a dagger in the heart of the conservative movement" (and a knife in the back) . The thread was subtitled, "The only difference in a Liberal Rudy Giuliani and Liberal Hillary Clinton is the fact of which bathrooms they select to use and there are some who are willing to even question that.

“For now I am just enjoying the show. I’ve met a lot of people who have “evolved” from liberal brain washing”

Trump is a useful tool, no more, no less. If he gets some libs to open their eyes, great. If he helps straighten out the GOP party, even better. If he helps out someone like Cruz, that’s the best.

If not (or when not), we need to dump him like a bad penny.

He did tell The Hill, though, that if elected, he would appoint conservative judges to the Supreme Court, praising Justice Samuel Alito while criticizing Chief Justice John Roberts.

"Jeb Bush was the one that pushed Roberts through his brother, and Roberts gave us Obamacare," Trump said. "Roberts was a terrible choice. We wouldn't be talking about Obamacare right now if we didn't have Roberts."

This was from July 23rd.

Trump did not like Bush - neither one. They were the democrat years.

Thanks brother.

BTW, pro-choice or not, I still want Trump upsetting the china shop. We need that. I don't want him as a candidate, but I *DO* want his candidacy.

Ok. Thanks. I thought I used to see him quite a bit more frequently, but maybe I’m remembering wrongly. He was always nice to me, so I hope all is well with him.

I am very impressed by Cruz, he’s smart as a whip and shows a great deal of character and class.

Good point. The OP is a scared, little rabbit.

Cruz reached out to Trump and lent a hand of support when Trump was getting lambasted from all sides for his statement on illegal immigration.

This was just a defense of a fellow republican candidate by Cruz on a single issue where there was agreement with Trump.

Speaking of which, I did not hear Trump come out in support of Cruz, when he was getting it from all sides for his efforts to de-fund Obamacare. Who is the bigger man here? Maybe Trump does not want to de-fund Obamacare.

Some Trump voters have tried to use this helping hand by Cruz as if Cruz has left his campaign and endorsed Trump. Even worse, they like to lump Trump and Cruz together as if trying to lend Cruz's hard earned conservative creds to the pre-election converted Trump.

This is disingenuous on their part.

I liked Giuliani and still do. I would have supported him if he had been the nominee. He’s pro law and order and would have been light years above Obama. I couldn’t voice that much here at the time as I would have been attacked and maybe banned. I loved his attack not too long ago against Obama. It was very Trumpesque in its honesty. It was disappointing that even he felt he had to back peddle to some extent in the days after. He shouldn’t have done that, IMO.

I’m not particularly pro-Trump as I’m pro-Trump not taking any crap. We’ve watched the Repub politicians play nice for far too long and it’s gotten us nothing. We reward the lousy paintywaists with good mid-terms and even good Presidential year races (2004), and they stab us in the back each time, but it’s all we had.

I think it’s very wrong to ask for purges. I think FR was hurt greatly by doing that. It limited creativity, interest, and thought here. I would never ask for that against someone unless they were obviously a Dem.

I voted for McCain in 2008...mostly because of the threat of Obama and for the introduction of Palin. I like her and still do even though I think her time has passed as a viable political candidate...at least as far as president. I voted for Romney in 2012. I’d gladly vote for a Scott Walker or Ted Cruz in 2016. We need a real fighter this time, though. Not a talker. Not a backstabber. Not a reach across the aisle type. We also need a communicator. Bush was terrible at that and it hurt us greatly. What it comes down to is that the country is too far gone. Obama has completely destroyed and demoralized. And that is why Trump is doing well. He’s giving it back to people and people are attracted to that. We need someone to fight because there is much urgency at this point in time.

Thank you, beaversmom. Well said.

And thanks for not kissing anyone’s butt like so many do.

Cruz is running for President himself. He has not dropped out and endorsed Trump. Many here try to sound like Cruz has given up and endorsed Trump.

I think they've already decided to run as Trump/Cruz in the general.

I would fight my way through a thousand liberal zombies to vote for that ticket.

I heartily agree with all your points. I will add one of my own.

Humility and faith are two qualities that all of our great presidents have possessed. Trump has neither. He is arrogant and prideful. He said that he has never asked God for forgiveness. That comment told me all I need to know about him.

The big question is if Trump comes out ProChoice... will Conservatives vote for him.

I had to vote for the last guy who switched back and forth on ProLife and it is getting a little old. Especially when the ones that are consistently ProLife don’t do anything anyway.

There is a reason Bush 1 only served one term.

And there is a reason Bush 2 finished his presidency with one of the
lowest approval ratings in history (27%)

Which helped give us Obama.

I never said that. Are you deliberately misinterpreting what I said? I said Cruz agrees with Trump, and he does.
