Two people were killed and at least six others were injured in a shooting Thursday night at a movie theater in Lafayette, Louisiana, authorities told NBC News.

LAFAYETTE, Louisiana — Latest developments
10:43 p.m. ET: A 58-year-old white male who was a theater patron fired multiple shots, said Sgt. Brooks David. The shooter was acting alone and is deceased, he said. There were about 100 people inside at the time.
10:42 p.m.: In addition to the shooter, another victim is dead. There are at least nine others injured, David said.
Clay Henry with Acadian Ambulance said the wounded were taken to three area hospitals. He described the injuries as “wide and varied.”
The shooter died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Sgt. James Anderson of the Louisiana State Police said. It wasn’t clear if the shooter was included among the dead list
The shooting inside the Grand Theatre 16 involved “multiple victims,” the police department tweeted. Police said they received the call about 7:30 p.m. CT.
The scene immediately after the shooting was chaotic.
“A whole bunch of girls started screaming and we heard that someone was shot,” Roxy Martinez told CNN affiliate KATC. “There were a lot of people running.”
Her brother saw a woman who had been shot in the stomach.
“I see a lady full of blood in a dress,” Robert Martinez said. “She was just looking at me in complete fear.”
Todd Moffatt, manager of a Mellow Mushroom pizza restaurant in the area, said 20 to 30 emergency vehicles had arrived on the scene. The area was locked down, he said.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal tweeted, “I’m on my way to Lafayette right now. Please say a prayer for the victims at Grand Theatre and their families.”

Actually, statistically not at all. That claim is part of a huge Scientology money raising and recruiting lie.
Crazy people have been involved in a lot of shootings. Some crazy people take anti-depressants. They take them because they have existing mental problems. Well people don't take antibiotics, and "non-crazies" don't take anti-depressants.
They work about 88-92% of the time (which is the ethicacy ratio for most drugs of all kinds, antibiotics, anti-fungals, etc.)
When they don't work and the crazy person kills someone, don't blame the drug. Blame the crazy person.
P.S. Guns don't kill people. Bad people do. Guns don't kill people, and neither do anti-depressants.

Well, if it does turn out that he was white -- which is still doubtful in my mind -- note that his political party isn't mentioned in that media release. Typical of the drivebys. That's proof he was a DemonRAT -- like all of the other mass murders. The party of socialism whether it be called Nazi, Communist or Democrat has always treated life with wanton disregard. Consider Hitler's holocaust, Stalin's genocide and hussein's greenlighting the slaughter of babies. This guy in Lafayette is just like the rest of his leftist buddies.

The common denominator in almost all the domestic mass murders in recent years is mental illness, perps either untreated or off the meds.
Get ready for another round of screaming about gun control, both as a result of this shooting and the ones in Tennessee and Alabama.

Yes, Jindal’s remarks were very cogent, strong, and supportive of the families of those injured/killed.
Jindel showing complete calm himself...handling this quite well I think...good he’s there and wasted no time being in the place he needs to be.
Sounds like it’s going to be a guy shooting his wife or girlfriend and then committing suicide. There’s a report the shooter was chasing a woman. The other injuries might be from him shooting wildly while he was running.
Guy was 58....they have the identity but not releasing yet.
