In “Truth,” Robert Redford plays Rather. Cate Blanchett plays his CBS producer Mary Mapes.

An ironic title, considering that I doubt there will be any truth in this hagiography.

Coming to a theater near you, October of 2016

The article says that the film will be released in October, meaning October of this year. IMDB confirms the 2015 release.

I wonder if George Bush will permit the filmmakers to slander him without responding appropriately.

Redford playing me makes me feel humble — which is not a word usually associated with anchors.

I think I'm going to be sick....

Whoever put money into this....lost their investment. Would have done better with a Zombie thriller or Sherlock Holmes piece.

It doesn't matter to the left. They made a movie about Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame and got Naomi Watts and the-biggest-idiot-in-Hollywood* (which is saying something!) to star.

*: Sean Penn

Well "The Natural" was the only thing I ever liked that Redford did.

You know, I love baseball and Barry Levinson (who directed) but I gotta say that movie sucked. Totally turned Bernard Malamud's book on its head and some of the dialogue was just atrocious. For a good baseball movie, it's Bull Durham, if you can stomach Susan Sarandon (at least she was hot back when it was made) and Tim Robbins.

Yup, good question.
Your little website, and it’s members, played a big role in this story :-)

Anyone who on this board the night “Buckhead” blew this lie up knows different. Rather and Mapes colluded in the big lie

TRUTH is the title of the movie.

The newspaper of the Soviet Communist Party was titled "Pravda", which is Russian for "Truth."

Ofcourse he will! The Bushs’ are above fighting with the Left. All the Left’s lies about the Iraq war stood without challenge when George was in office.

You won’t hear Jeb go after Hitlery or Obama, either, if he gets the nomination. It’s beneath them. It’s like a retarded royalty thing. LOL

No, it is the Karl Rove mindset, which chases after yesterday's poll results, and analysis of focus group attitudes, with not the slightest understanding of what real leadership entails.

Rove's dependence on trying to reach people who have been brainwashed, without challenging their false premises, is at the core of the junior Bush political antics.

Rove may have ADVISED surrender to the communists’ disinformation, but Bush made and final decision to act like a stupid dummy. The advice made no sense and was obviously not working as Bush’s popularity number nosed dove. Truth matters and Bush should have known that even if Rove is a snake in the grass. And he is.

Of course he will!

I think you're right. We'll get that familiar little smirky smile, followed by "Hey, it's just a movie!" He did not defend his own policies, and I doubt he'll defend his own reputation. He lacks the ability, the will, or both.

Bush & Rove deserved each other. Neither had much more analytic ability than a lichen on the shady side of a bolder--all rote, all mouthing slogans based on the results of yesterday's focus group discussions. That is not leadership.

Bush's Second Inaugural Address, was the epitome of my point. For paragraph by paragraph analysis, with George Washington's classical view on the same points offered for contrast: George Washington vs. George Bush.

Thank you. That was enlightening!

“D. As avenues to foreign influence in innumerable ways, such attachments are particularly alarming to the truly enlightened and independent patriot. How many opportunities do they afford to tamper with domestic factions, to practice the arts of seduction, to mislead public opinion, to influence or awe the public councils! Such an attachment of a small or weak, towards a great and powerful nation, dooms the former to be the satellite of the latter.”

This is globalism where foreign NGO’s come in to trick and influence our nation when they have no allegiance to our nation’s people nor care about our national interest.

I think that you can lump the present Executive Department in Washington with those foreign NGOs--as well as many of those Republicans who rationalize "liberal" immigration policies.
