Ted Cruz Signs Books in Sioux City and Talks Donald Trump Support

Sioux City, IA (ABC9 News) - Republican Presidential Candidate Ted Cruz was back in Sioux City Tuesday to promote his new  book, "The Time For Truth."

The junior Texas senator says his book will give grassroots republicans an inside look at what he calls the "Washington cartel."

Senator Cruz met with supporters at the Barnes & Noble book store at the Southern Hills Mall Tuesday Morning. He told ABC9 that his book details how politicians on both sides of the aisle are corrupted by the influence of money from corporations and special interests groups.

Before sitting down for the book signing, He spoke with ABC9 news about his support for fellow GOP Presidential Candidate Donald Trump following his controversial comments about Mexican immigrants.

"I salute Donald Trump for focusing on a very important issue and that is illegal immigration. The 'Washington cartel,' the career politicians in both parties, they don't want to address illegal immigration so you're seeing just about every presidential candidate running out of their way to slam Donald Trump," said Cruz.

Cruz, whose father migrated to the U.S. from Cuba says immigration reform is a matter of national security. The Texas senator says if he becomes president, immigration, tax reform and protecting the constitutional rights of American citizens will be among his top priorities.

Cruz has a strong backing in Iowa, but he is still struggling to break out of the crowded GOP presidential field. He told ABC9 News that grassroots campaigns is what will help him stand out.

I doubt that very much. He will wake up one day....to find himself living in the White House.

Ted Cruz REMAINS the only true Conservative in this race.

~~Cruz, OR LOSE~~

I am glad to see that Ted Cruz is doing his part to confirm my opinion of politicians.
Padding his bank account with a book tour while campaigning. Now there is a novel idea.

[Now there is a novel idea.]

The novel idea is that the TED CRUZ campaign platform is in the hands of millions of readers.

“The junior Texas senator says his book will give grassroots republicans an inside look at what he calls the “Washington cartel.”

But your sarcastic “novel” idea is correct. Nothing new about a candidate pushing a book in order to get their ideas out there to the voters.

"The novel idea is that the TED CRUZ campaign platform is in the hands of millions"

I'm about half way through the book. Fascinating accounts about Cruz and his family as well as candid, inside, stories about government and Supreme Court that give you an idea of how they work .

One thing that is abundantly clear from reading the book is that Cruz "Gets It"- He gets what this country is supposed to be about, and that we've strayed far from it.

And he "Gets It" on a level that few, if any, of the other candidates do.

Cruz's Must-Read Book Here
