In what could be a first for a global fast food outlet, Burger King is making a bold proclamation in support of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community with the launch of a specially packaged burger.
The "Be Your Way" project was created at a Burger King franchise in San Francisco, where a limited edition "Proud Whopper" sandwich was added to the menu to coincide with the city's annual pride festivities. According to press materials, guests who ordered the "Proud Whopper" found that the sandwich was the same as a classic Whooper, but came wrapped in a rainbow-colored wrapper with the inscription, "We are all the same inside."

The burger's release was documented in a short "Be Your Way" film, which was released on Burger King's YouTube page and can be viewed at top.
We are always looking to engage our guests on a local level and be part of regionally relevant events,” said Kelly Gomez, Director of West Coast Field Marketing, Burger King West Division, in an email statement. Given that a Burger King franchise was perfectly situated along the San Francisco Pride Parade route, she added, "It was a natural fit to be involved and celebrate by giving something back to the community.”

We certainly aren't all the same inside if some of us eat our meals at Burger King, and some of us don't.
Exactly. I am so tired about hearing what the gay community demands. What this country really needs is a law on favorable treatment for albinos who were born in Alsace-Lorraine prior to WWII.
I guess they think that catering to less than 2% of the population will gain them business. Whereas in reality it will hurt their business because those that don’t believe in gay marriage will decide they don’t really need to go to Burger King.
Instead, they may well go to Chik-Fil-A

Near where I live, I can drive down the street where a Burger King is on one side, Wendy’s on the other. That is one case where it is easy to boycott. Burger King evidently doesn’t know that there is an internet that dispenses information.
Well, we’ve been boycotting some other places that have been “in your face” about all this “gay” stuff, as well as some just plain raunchy ads on tv - Hardee’s for one ). We do go to a Burger King up the road from us; but I guess they decided they don’t want our business. (Why can’t they leave SEX out of my food? I don’t rule what others do; but I can for darn sure squawk loudly when they keep wagging it in my face.) The local BK here may have a manager with enough sense to load a popgun. If so, they’ll leave the Rainbow crap out of it.
Burger King is not only sick, but stupid and ignorant.
These companies that roll over to the LGBT community will find out real soon they won’t survive just on their support.

I haven’t crossed the door of Burger King since they had this wrapper at a homosexual pride parade in SF.
They can take their proud whopper and shove.... Oh, wait...never mind.

This is a really old article. I hated that they did this for Pride day in one city but they have discontinued it. Not sure why you are reposting this from years ago.

They are not catering to homos per se, but to straight people who support homo politics, and they are the majority.
