A man has been arrested in the shooting death of a woman who was walking along San Francisco’s Embarcadero with her family Wednesday evening.
Texas resident Francisco Sanchez had been detained as a person of interest south along the Embarcadero shortly after the shooting at Pier 14 after witnesses on the pier snapped his photo, which was quickly forwarded to officers investigating the killing.

Rick Perry spent more time buying glasses, than working out 10 different ways to make this guy deportable or to even make sure law enforcement at every level called ICE. Then they refuse then Perry can blame ICE. I doubt if this illegal was called into ICE everytime.
Arizona worked out ways of charging them with felony for any dishonest or fraudulent writings a person makes.
I guarantee deporting and upcharging as many illegals as possible was not on Rick Perry’s list of things he did in office.
And this media writer is trying to implicate TEXAS. Ironic isn’t it?
There’s more. Perp was on some sort of Federal detain list, which SF didn’t act on cause they are a sanctuary city.
So Rick Perry knew this man, was personally responsible for putting him on parole, and should be singled out for this responsibility?

I think the perp was caught shop-lifting in Texas but on his way back to SF.
I’ve been reading the comments on this SF newspaper. Many think that it was this is ultimately the fault of the NRA and that there are too many guns around and through burglary and neglect they get into the hands of illegals.

She was shot in the chest at 6:40 at night with other people enjoying the night.
“Police described a chaotic scene after the shooting. Witnesses jumped in to render aid to Steinle, while others shared photos of the suspect with police — images they had captured on their cell phones.
“People had no hesitation to get down on their knees and help this woman,” Andraychak said.

Officers from multiple police stations fanned out around the area, tracking Sanchez and detaining him about a mile south of the pier along the Embarcadero at Townsend Street.
I think you all misunderstand. This guy WAS deported 5 times, and came back. One of the times he got some mail in TX.
The dropped ball is the result of the border not being secured, and not just in TX.
