Better yet, make It read no different than a business contract since that what SCOTUS did. Maybe call it a estate planning contract.

>>>>>>>What they need to do is refuse.

In sane world, that would be all there is to it. But we have the First Sodomite President. If a state refused to implement this, we’d see the Army deployed to enforce the ruling.

And, no, I’m not just spouting hyperbole.

“And the courts will force it upon churches. Just watch”

I wonder if Churches could implement a policy that marriages will only be performed to active members of the congregation. And further stipulate they must be active members of a year or more. No one is dicriminated against. Otherwise give them a map to city hall whether they be gay or straight. That should weed out many queers hell bent on bringing down the churches.

The church I am still technically a member of on paper has been behind gay marriage for years. Haven’t shown up in a decade, still no plans to.

Gay activists claim redifining marriage won't hurt anyone but that's a lie. Just ask Canada.

This is rich. Roberts wrote in his dissent ‘This court is not a legislator.’

I’d be laughing my ass off if it wasn’t so pathetic.

Most, if not all, Catholic churches already do that.

The problem is that signing a State marriage license takes it out of the purely religious context.

The real question is not was the South right, but would you support secession today. I ask because I've seen pro Union FReepers indicate they would fight FOR the Feds if any State tried to leave the US now. It is appalling that they are effectively saying, "I'm an American first, and Christian/conservative/liberty-lover second."

So, what say you?

and I hope both of Roberts kids marry same sex...and the same with obama girls...

what a world of sadness and sickness we are living in...

I'm 72 and the years ahead are few..and I am thankful to be this age....
Pray for America...

Our votes and voice mean NOTHING.

We need governors to say, “No. This is tyranny. We’ll not implement your stupidity.” We need legislatures to back up their governors.

Alabama is already moving to do away with Marriage licenses completely.

Holy Matrimony has been Adulterated in America. Flee from the Wrath of God to come. Call upon the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone can save from this depravity. Many will perish in eternity because of this ruling.

Ignore DooDoodawg as it is one of the most liberal members of FR. I think “TROLL” would be a more apt description.

States need to play the left’s game.

Stop issuing marriage license to anyone. You want to get married, that will be the feds responsibility.

Change and use words different than marriage for a union between a man and a woman.

If marriage is the responsibility of the fed so is divorce from marriage.

Swamp the federal courts with millions of divorce from marriage cases so people can then be rejoined in a union between a man and a woman.

So, what say you?

It would depend on how that secession was tried. After consultation with the other states and agreement on matters that might have the potential to cause conflict? I wave goodbye and say go in peace. Walking out without discussion, refusing responsibility for debt and other national obligations, and shooting up a fort on your way out? Not so much.

You ARE the fool and Lincoln DID break constitutional law right and left to have his own way.

The War of Northern Aggression was waged to subjugate the south and deny the States their Rights to govern themselves as was the intent and purpose of the Constitution. It established the FED as supreme master in all things far beyond those LIMITED items mentioned in the Constitution.
Slavery was but one issue and was chosen by Lincoln as a way to destroy the economy of the south.

Shut your mouth and do some REAL research instead of listening to and absorbing all of the Liberal Crapola you are fed and eventually, you may wake up one morning and see the light of day.
