Just adding on, if no one else mentioned it, the Blaze did run an opinion piece asking if Roberts was blackmailed. I’ve read a few of these threads today, I know this has come up:

Who is like unto the beast...who can make war with him?

This verse entered my mind after I heard this ruling. Obama gets what he wants doesn’t he? Those who stand against him never seem to win.

Thank you for the correction. It’s been so long that the wrong name came to mind.

Even the conservatives we sent....the ones who rode in on the TEAnami of 2010 and since....have betrayed and deceived us, at least a good many of them have.

Most of them have ended up voting FOR things like Boehner for Speaker, CRomnibus, trade bills, etc.

I supported (donated, campaigned for) MANY of those candidates. Several of them still have me on their email lists....and had the gall to send an email soliciting donations, after SCOTUS’ decision. They had the nerve to call it SCOTUScare....I told them ALL, in so many words, NO, It’s actually RINOcare.

I voted for the *conservative* and the conservative turned into a bought and paid for you-know-what. I pray there’s one patriot left to pull us out of this muck.

All I can figure is what many suspected. Most of the TEA guys were never conservative to begin with. They were placed there or were bought early.

There is no way we can ever be sure. Which makes due diligence all the more important. Especially associations. If they have rinos in their past, there is rino in their future.

Regardless, ‘lesser evil’ and the idiots promoting it guarantee political suicide.

CommieCutter: “I got through about 400 pages of that book and was so angry I had to put it down. It was as if I was reading the very thing I was seeing happening in the real world.”

Art’s reply: “Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead are Now. Try and get the 20 somethings to read them. It’s up to us, and especially them, to right the ship of state.”

I would also recommend reading, “Brave New World,” “1984” and “Animal Farm.” I have a few others on my list, but haven’t picked them up yet. I do have “Atlas Shrugged” on my list, but I haven’t picked it up again out of FEAR!

Good luck. I am guessing any Texas nation created by secession will have VERY STRICT immigration laws. That border will have 50 caliber mounted towers every 2 or 3 miles and patrols apprehending anybody who gets within 5 miles of their borders, both south AND north.

Kennedy has always been the Country Club swing vote, like O’Connor. Neither conservative nor liberal, you never knew how they would vote and they often took the court with them which way they swayed.

I am dying for someone to begin a 4th party for Conservatives. Really lead and pioneered by honest, dyed-in-the-wool uncompromising Conservatives. I am convinced it would swamp the Libertarians in number and be the 3rd largest party, and not with small numbers either. I think maybe 15-20% of ALL VOTERS would be in this party. That is a hell of a lot.

But where is Rush Limbaugh to create this? He is still “carrying the water” for the GOP elite.

Where is Hannity? Where is Palin? I realize this would be very counter-productive in the short term at a critical time in our juncture, but if we have ANY long term chance at turning the tide toward oppressive totalitarian sociliasm, replacing and then marginalizing the ever shrinking GOP with a true Conservative Party becoming the 2nd party to the commie Dems, is the only honest way I can see it happening.

Where are the millionaire, billionare conservatives on this matter?

Nowhere. Out to lunch as usual, while the commie lib Dems pull out the stops and leave no stone unturned in their relentless efforts.

We don't need a 4th party. Or a third party.

We need a second political party.

In any event you are right. I am formulating my Republican resignation letter now.

1966 here. I’ll be 49 in two weeks. I hope in my old age I’ll still be able to sling a Garand or at least an M1 Carbine.

Those who stand against him never win. One part of me thinks that’s scary. Another part of me thinks “Something great is about to happen!”

The decision provided a bonus which sustains our worries about Article VI in the constitution that you've written about at length. In short, SCOTUS just resolved officially that infamous ambiguity.

To help fill in, let me highlight the stinker in the supremacy clause in Article VI. This is the ambiguity which you have demonstrated has been construed to favor the growth of centralized power at the expense of individual protections through exploitation of treaties.

This clearly states that treaties overrule the constitution or laws of any state, and forces judges to treat them that way. The ambiguity that was never cleared up was: “does that include the federal constitution and its laws or only that of the states?”

Since SCOTUS has just now construed that “State” can mean the federal government, it has officially ended the matter of that ambiguity.

IIRC, you observed in your works that since 1940 that ambiguity was already construed that way. The point is that it was only treated that way and they dared not state it openly until last week. The Progressives were craven back then; now they are openly brazen.

This new clarity ought aid us in battles against the trade agreement. However, with this new brazen authoritarianism we are facing, facts matter to our rulers as much as the Pope's admonitions mattered to Stalin.

You have to remember the “visit” at SCOTUS on January 14th, 2009 which castrated the whole nation as well!!!
