Police and federal law enforcement agencies were in the midst an all-out manhunt Thursday morning for the gunman they say is responsible for killing 9 people in a Charleston South Carolina church Wednesday night in what police described as a hate crime.
The suspect opened fire on a bible study group at the historic black Emanuel AME Church on Calhoun street, killing eight people in an "unfathomable." Two other people were rushed to the hospital where one died.
Early Thursday morning, police released pictures from surveillance footage showing the suspect, a younger white man, approximately 21-25 years old, as well as the car he was driving, police said.

...yet even if he is white, it wouldn’t necessarily mean the attack was based on race. At this point it could be any number of things, including hatred of the church.

Spree killers typically don’t have that kind of control. They would act up enough to be noticed if they are interacting with a group.
Something tells me this guy is not going to fit anyone’s narrative.

No, it’s because someone snapped and decided to get revenge against black people because he thought he had been wronged, or didn’t like what he’s been seeing the news or just hates other people.
He’s going to be very popular in jail.
