"[Donald Trump] has made highly publicized forays into national politics on occasion over the past two decades. Late in 1999, as the presidency of Bill Clinton wound down, Trump was one of several contenders for the nomination of the Reform Party, the remnant of the third-party movement begun by billionaire H. Ross Perot in 1992." Source

1999: Trump jumps to Reform Party

Ross Perot got Bill Clinton (both times with less than 50% of the vote) elected twice (1992;1996).

Ross Perot was (is) a billionaire too.

Later in the 1990s, Perot's detractors accused him of not allowing the Reform Party to develop into a genuine national political party, but rather using it as a vehicle to promote himself. They cited as evidence the control of party offices by operatives from his presidential campaigns...... Since then, Perot has been largely silent on political issues, refusing to answer most questions from the press. When interviewed, he usually remains on the subject of his business career and refuses to answer specific questions on politics, candidates, or his past activities."

Well, then, the GOP has a major problem. What is it, now, 12 declared candidates? And the only one saying those things is a clown like Trump?

[Read the article again. This is the 2nd time he said it.]

Trump said on FOX news this morning that his Oprah comment was tongue in check.

That being said, vote TED CRUZ 2016

The Donald is a DEMOCRAT but he has too much CLASS (LOL) to admit it because it's the party of UGLY LOSERS!! I have heard him say that he LOVES Hillary!!

I was wondering when we would see Ross Perot II. Its the only way Bill Clinton got elected (with 43% of the vote) because Ross pulled 20%. I think Trump will eventually run as a third party, pull enough votes from republicans to put Hillary in the oval office.

Can't believe anyone here is dense enough to think this clown is a either a conservative or a serious candidate.

I agree. Trump reminds me of Joe Biden, only moneyed.

You are right on the money.....Donald Trump was kidding......the left-wing, Obamabot media, like the buffoons they are, jumped right on it....making fools out of themselves, as they usually do!!! LMAO!!! Democrats are in full panic mode. Not only will Hillary be beaten badly...but the stain of failed, incompetent, POTUS, Obama will cause the entire Democrat Party to suffer a devastating defeat in 2016!!!

With Oprah on his ticket he would certainly get a good portion of the votes, if not win. Oprah would get the low information-woman vote, a substantial portion of the Negro vote, the anti-Clinton vote (assuming Hillary gets the nomination), the vote of those that always vote for a Republican, and a portion of democrats ashamed of obama’s bashing of the US.

But a Donald/Oprah ticket would never, ever get my vote. Oprah is a leftist bigot. Imagine something happening to Donald in office and Oprah becoming President. She’s about as qualified as obama.

I’m hoping this is some kind of a joke or misunderstanding.

Recipients include Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (Nev.), former Pennsylvania governor Edward G. Rendell, and Rahm Emanuel, a former aide to President Obama who received $50,000 from Trump during his recent run to become Chicago’s mayor.

Trump says if people watch that clip, and the questioner, then they know he was just fooling around, because the question was inane.

This morning on Fox, he said he was kidding when he answered Stephanopoulos. He said everyone knew it. He said that he had his whole family on Oprah recently and he liked her. (He says that about everyone). Anyway, Stephanopoulos tries to take down anyone the left considers a treat. Trump will at least get the right message out. The others are Democrat lite. Except for Carly, who is focused on growing the economy and taking down Hillary.

I think Carly would be Trump’s choice.

“Cruz wants to increase H-1B visa from 65,000 to 325,000 per year. Can’t believe anyone here is dense enough to think this clown is a either a conservative or a serious candidate.
All candidates say something stupid, Trump probably realizes that Oparh thing was a mistake. I doubt Cruz thinks increasing H-1b is a bad idea however.”

We have lots of technical people without jobs in this country. H-1B visa workers are not needed. Cruz is a sell out to the Wall Street crowd. The trade deal and H1-B visas prove it.

He’s going to win.

Trump continues to be an utter clown. He has zero chance of winning a Republican nomination - none. His highwater mark is probably within the next week. His schtick will grow old very fast.

The problem with Trump is that what he will do is fairly predictable (not guaranteed, but likely). He will lose in the GOP primaries, blame the "establishment" for his loss and then jump over and and finish out his bid for President as a 3rd party independent where he will pull another Perot and help Hillary get elected. There are just enough politically ignorant people on the right to waste their vote on him.

Trump is not a conservative btw, his past statements and donations prove that.

"I am certainly not a Trump supporter, but this mention of Oprah was in 1999...not yesterday. And given what we know about Trump, he wasn’t serious."

Did you read the article? He said it 1999, yes, and again on ABC news yesterday, after his announcement.

Trump is enjoying his joke run, that's for sure.

True but Donald Trump is likely to reach his annual limit before the day is over.
