Where’s Sarah? Palin missing from presidential campaign events
McClatchy DC ^ | June 2, 2015 | DAVID LIGHTMAN AND SEAN COCKERHAM

WASHINGTON — Sarah Palin has disappeared from the 2016 presidential campaign.

She continues to tease about running, just as she has almost since the day she was defeated as the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee.

But since she spoke at two early presidential showcases this winter, including one where her rambling monologue was blasted by conservative activists and analysts, she’s essentially been missing in action.

Since late February, she’s stayed away from the eight other forums, events held almost weekly. And she’s not on the roster for the next meeting, Florida Gov. Rick Scott’s candidate summit Tuesday in Orlando.

Organizers of these events usually want her, but Palin routinely turns them down and sometimes doesn’t even respond. In some cases, sponsors have stopped asking her.

[...]

Palin hasn’t run for anything since resigning as governor halfway through her term in 2009. She suggested she might run for president in 2012, for the Senate in 2014, and now president again.

Yet she’s got no apparent organization or fundraising apparatus.

“My guess is, looking at her recent history, that her suggested ambitions to run for office are all just publicity stunts to keep her name alive nationally,” said Marc Hellenthal, a Republican strategist and pollster in Alaska.

Nor does anyone seem to eagerly be urging her to jump into a field that could have at least 15 prominent candidates. “Gov. Palin has really fallen off of the map and is a non-factor in South Carolina and most places,” Moore said.

Even in Alaska, her approval ratings are low and her state political career is over.

“When she quit in the middle of her gubernatorial term she hurt herself tremendously,” Hellenthal said.

And she never planned on running again after the 2008 campaign. She saw just what the media, and her so called friends in the gopE, can do to damage her.

“And what happens when she quits halfway through her term because someone was mean to her?”

Are you serious? Do you have any knowledge of what happened, or are you some troll making this up as you go?

I saw some really stupid comments about Sarah in this thread, but yours pissed me off to the point of responding.

She left the Governors Mansion because she was being sued by leftist nutjobs like you every other day. They were bankrupting her personally, and they were taking her attention away from a job she felt deserved 100% from who was entrusted to do it.

I will not allow anyone to get away with bold face lies like the one you just posted.

Go back to DU.

I have read that almost from the day she took office, she was repeatedly sued by liberals, under a stupid Alaskan law that allows these type of lawsuits, and that the state GOP refused to contribute to her defense because she had attacked the GOB GOPe.

So you read this and still make the snarky comment about her feelings being hurt? Do you have a reading comprehension problem, or are just here to start crap?

Let’s hope the Democrat party doesn’t try to sue you into bankruptcy one day. Wouldn’t want to see what happens to your life.

I agree with you about the iPod generation. If they could have one implanted with the optic nerve generating video information, they would hop on the table as fast as they would go for LASIK Eye Surgery. This is a generation ready for the government to put them on the MATRIX to harvest their brain power to run the Borg. I use that language for the iPod coconuts because I have seen little promise that they will pass on to future generations the freedom America has known since its founding.

We may be the dinosaurs but our books may enable them to figure out how to get their world back.

Another day, another snark article. No matter what she does...or doesn’t, the press will put out...bad press.

They'll never stop actively hating her on a daily basis. Whatever she does or doesn't do, they drive themselves insane thinking about her... and they can't stop thinking about her.

If she's done nothing else on the national stage, Sarah has certainly made herself immortal in the minds of the left. They will hate her and hate her and hate her on into the future.

Well, it will be a FRiendly agreement to disagree...

No offence intended, but Carly is not, and never will be, a consideration in my opinion...

She is talking a good talk, and walking a good walk but her corporate experience is extensive, but her methods and decision making is based upon corporate trends and executive type speak, which is not in touch with the working class that was at her mercy...

Employees are like numbers on a spreadsheet to her, and she has a history of wiping whole pages off the ledgers...

Not good Chief Executive material to me, and her attitude back then in my opinion does rank her with the others I mentioned...

Nothing personal, but that is just the way I saw it, and I will never forget it...Maybe if she had an elected office voting record for a term or two might soften my position, but obviously we don’t have than here...

Just my opinion...

Oh boy...Ok, nothing...The weather is great most of the time...

Some of the people are pretty friendly...outgoing...Inclusive...

The states politics are not to my level of tolerance, but the beaches are still great...

That’s about all I got...;-)

Back then the delegates were not as “committed” as they are now. They’ve changed to rules to prevent any surprises.

Ok.

You MUST be right and the VAST majority of people reporting on it, left and right, said it was disjointed and rambling.

Its blindness like this that makes the Conservatives look like fools.

No wonder we will never win the White House again.

Sarah is out of the picture, she doesn’t have the kind of $$$$$ that Hillary has, to make for a successful campaign. (Maybe she should contact the Gov’t of Cameroon for a 10M donation?) Sarah’s light is fading now, so its time to find a brighter one.

‘Journalists’ like these make me laugh. There are multitudes of issues and events and follow-ups that they could spend their time on.

But they always come back to the one who they swear is irrelevant, finished, gone.

She’ll do things when she feels like it.
