THE BIG TENT PARTY COLLAPSES
Breitbart.com ^ | 5-27-2015 | Ben Shapiro

The GOP is falling apart.

How else to explain the wide variance of positions within the Republican Party on basic issues ranging from same-sex marriage to immigration to tax policy? For years, GOP bigwigs have explained that the Republican Party can only succeed if it expands and evolves, embracing as many views as possible. There’s only one problem: that simply doesn’t work.

While the Democratic Party has moved toward leftist purity in which Hillary Clinton’s policy positions are virtually indistinguishable from socialist Bernie Sanders’, the Republican Party has become to political positions what COEXIST bumper stickers are to religion – an embrace of all and, thereby, a perversion of all. The media enjoy suggesting that the Republican Party has never been more right-wing, but the opposite is true: the Republican Party has never been more heterogeneous, and the Democratic Party has never been more radically homogenous.

Just look at the Republican field today: an agglomeration of random humans appealing to small segments of the population. The Republican Party has now fragmented into Tea Party Republicans who oppose Establishment Republicans, Socially Conservative Republicans who oppose Libertarian Republicans. None of these candidates are running for the nomination; all of them are running for approximately 25 percent of the vote in a primary. Winning one quarter of primary voters in the early states could win the nomination.

The big business faction, which supports open borders, HB-1 visas, politically left ideology written into HR policies because it appeases their guilt, government protection of big business via regulation, is at war with the much larger but not as powerful socially conservative, small government faction.

But... the MSM says the GOP is being driven by right wing extremist, and democrats offer mainstream common sense.

The lie has become the truth, generally.

It is about money and power and temporary satisfaction that contains both. Republican Elitism is largely about the urgency of now and the fewer impediments to that power and money. They could give a crap about their progeny’s future lot.

The Republican Party is not collapsing....The RINO leadership is losing its power. Until and unless that leadership loses it’s power the rank and file will remain in a state of non support.

To the Republican Party....Change or face extinction.....

One way or another We the People will take back our power.

There are still a few suffering from battered Republican syndrome who are still begging to be beaten, lied to and betrayed.

With the exception of a couple candidates, the Big Tent GOP is looking
like a freak show.

Something Barnum & Bailey Circus would envy.

It is not falling apart exactly. It’s just that the enemy has taken over powerful positions. While many things blamed on George W. are not his fault, this one is his fault, at least he was the start of it.

You either stand for something or nothing. The GOP leadership chooses the latter.

I have been unable to support the Republican Party for years. I stopped making donations, and I just cannot reconcile myself with their weak, vacillating, liberal positions.

They don’t understand: They simply cannot out-liberal liberals. Trying to adopt liberal positions on abortion, immigration, foreign policy and domestic policy is a doomed approach, because the liberals will be more genuine, and voters will understand that Republicans are only watered down liberals.

Liberals just LOVE it when Republicans try to co-opt their liberal positions. It means conservatives lose. They lose support in their own party, and they lose support in the general electorate.

It is a losing proposition. And they just don’t get it.

The GOP is still being lead by the Nelson Rockefeller types still expecting results out of it when it stopped working in the 60s.

They hitched themselves to Reagan and masqueraded as such for 20 years, but now the act is stale.

The party elite rather become a footnote than hand over power to the South and Midwest and admit they’re wrong.

Right Wing Extremists????? Ever heard the Media use the term “Left Wing Extremists?” Me neither.....

II’s all about positioning...The left always defines anything, even the slightest amount, to the right of its positions as being extreme....

In California, US Senator Barbara Boxer used that exact tactic to remain in power for almost 24 years with the help of a lapdog press/media.

It’s all she ever talked about during her 4 Senatorial campaigns. She positioned her very liberal positions as being in the “middle” and even a moderate Republican as a wild eyed reactionary......like I said positioning!

You are exactly right.

It’s like the two lawyers I heard interviewed about the homo marriage issue. The guy for normal marriage was complimenting the other side. Hello? Is he a plant for the pro homo side? He certainly sounded like it. If you are going to be for leftist positions, be a leftist.

It is also like what the Germans did near the end of WW2. They dressed up like Allied soldiers and infiltrated the ranks in order to kill them.

I think you’re wrong about that. The Big Business faction will be supporting Hillary Clinton in 2016.

The BIG TENT GOP has forsaken religion, morality, and wise advise from the Founding Fathers...

Except from GEORGE WASHINGTON Farewell Address (1796):

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of man and citizens.

The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connexions with private and public felicity.

Let it simply be asked, Where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths, which are the instruments of investigation in Courts of Justice?

And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.

It is substantially true, that virtue or morality is a necessary spring of popular government. The rule, indeed, extends with more or less force to every species of free government.

Who, that is a sincere friend to it, can look with indifference upon attempts to shake the foundation of the fabric?

There is room for EVERYONE in the GOP party, what we keep forgetting is these are NOT GOVERNMENT ISSUES

We keep getting hung up on liberal causes that have no place in the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT anyway- where does it say in in the enumerated powers that the Federal Government has any control over marriage?
