As outlined in Darrell Issa’s Committee report (pdf), Admiral Mullen apparently chose to call up Hillary Clinton’s Counselor and Chief of Staff, Cheryl Mills, to give her a friendly “heads up” that he didn’t think Charlene Lamb would comport herself well in front of Congress. Lamb was scheduled to testify on October 10, 2012, before Congress; the Accountability Review Board (ARB), of which Admiral Mullen was Vice-Chair, had been announced on October 3 by Hillary Clinton. Admiral Mullen had just interviewed Lamb for the investigative purposes of the ARB, and went out of his way to make this friendly call to Mills. The call to Mills occurred just days after she had called Mullen to ask him to be the co-chair of the ARB.
“If this is so independent [a board] why are you giving the State Department a heads up about a witness coming in front of this committee?” asked Rep. Jim Jordan at the hearing. Also, Breitbart reported that “He [Mullen] was asked if he ever alerted officials at the State Department or Department of Defense about ARB activities.”
“He told them they contacted Cheryl Mills, Clinton’s chief of staff, ahead of time because it may be a difficult appearance for the State Department.”

(Rep. Jim) Jordan also severely questioned the integrity and independence of the ARB report, noting the board failed to interview either former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton or her then-chief of staff, Cheryl Mills.
In fact, Jordan noted, Mills was actually getting tipped off as to what was in the report and effectively got to vet it before its release.
Mills was also a key figure in a bombshell revelation made by investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson, when a former State Department diplomat told her two members of the former secretary of state’s inner circle supervised the removal of damaging documents from those turned over to the ARB.
Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, told Fox News one of the aides was Mills and the other was Deputy Chief of Staff Jake Sullivan, who had who previously worked on Clinton’s presidential campaign and then Obama’s.

The hackers targeted Mr. Mullen's personal computers, which he used while working on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Academy since his retirement in 2011, according to officials and others familiar with the probe. Those people said FBI agents took away two computers in late October and returned them in mid-November.
One official said that evidence gathered by the FBI points to China as the origin of the hacking, and that it appeared the perpetrators were able to access a personal email account of Mr. Mullen. The official declined to be more specific.

There was one video posted to the net around the same time whose release was expected to raise hell, but that one was buried by this video meme “Innocence of Muslims”- the other video was totally different, and it was not brought up again. IIRC, it was mentioned the day of the attacks concerning the Egypt riot before Benghazi.
There were four versions of Innocence of Muslims, all with different names, but I assume you’re talking about an entirely different video. It would be great to know what it was and try to find the source of it.
There is evidence that the someone in the FedMob had a hand in producing and/or disseminating Innocence of Muslims.
Either that or the report was made before the state department figured out what video of many “anti-islam” videos they would lay the blame on.
Wasn’t this also the time Hillary and Obama were kissing Erdogan’s and Khamenei’s butts on the blasphemy law/freedom of speech issue?
I’m pretty sure it was mentioned before Benghazi took place on the day of the Cairo riot. For a while there the press wasn’t sure what youtube video the embassy was talking about.
You put my memory to the test but, yes, it was.
The bottom line is that almost no muslims attacking U.S. embassies around the world that day were protesting any video.
I have had to go through all of my bookmarks to find something on that aspect and have found this so far...

The release of the information, which included presidential records of communications from Willey to Clinton, were an attempt to discredit the Clinton accuser and help cover up Clinton’s egregious behavior. Mills was also referred to the Clinton Department of Justice for criminal prosecution for her alleged obstruction and perjury in yet another congressional investigation — this one into an illegal taxpayer-funded White House database of Clinton donors.
