In 1928, 16-year-old Minka Disbrow was on a picnic in the woods when she was assaulted and raped. Suddenly, this innocent farm girl was pregnant and terrified. The baby was secretly born, named Betty Jane, and placed for adoption.
For decades, Minka wrote letters trying to receive updates on her daughter. She kept loving and praying for Betty Jane, even though she never thought theyd meet again.
Nearly 80 years later, Minka whispered a prayer: Lord, Id like to see Betty Jane before I die. I promise I wont bother her or interrupt her life. I just want to lay eyes on her. Unbeknownst to Minka, a judge was releasing the sealed adoption records to her 77-year-old daughter. Soon, Minkas phone would ring with the news shed been secretly hoping for.
I am adopted and have no interest in finding my birth parents. I am not missing anything, life has been incredibly gracious to me.
Or society...
Very moving story. My sister and her husband adopted a baby girl 3 years ago. She comes from a black mother who has 3 kids already with 3 different fathers. She told the adoption agency she never wants to be contacted by the adoptive parents or the child. It’s really a miracle the baby wasn’t aborted. She will have all the love and advantages any child could dream of. Even so, my sister will have to deal with her questions about her real birth mother eventually. My sister is a red-haired as white as can be Irish lass and her daughter is dark-skinned African American. They get a lot of stares...
Wrong, abortion wasn’t legal in New York.
If you are interested you may look it up.
Another bit of trivia for you is that Connecticut was the first state to outlaw abortion.
You may look that up as well.
Look, you were wrong, and you can’t source your false claim.
Why lash out about that? If you have no reason to claim an historical fact about 1928 New York having legal abortion, then why post it, and why get angry for someone asking you for proof?
It makes it look like you have a reason for promoting a lie.

Sorry that it disturbs you. Perhaps a switch to de-caf would help?
Have a nice evening.
You sure have some powerful reactions to someone asking you for evidence of such a strange claim of historical fact.
Especially when it was clearly wrong.
LOL!
Okay.
Why not just admit that you made it up?
Why all the push back for your making such a strange claim that wasn’t accurate?
What ever you say dear.
The fact is, that abortion was not legal in New York in 1928.
