U.S. Muslims ask why their religion's condemnation of violence often goes unheard
Los Angeles Times ^ | 05/10/2015 | SARAH PARVINI

Saaliha Khan scrolled through her Facebook feed and pored over posts expressing sadness, dismay and disapproval, the kind of messages that always appear after an attack carried out in the name of Islam.

It was just past midnight on Monday, and two Muslim gunmen had been killed about six hours earlier in a shootout outside a controversial cartoon contest in Garland, Texas, which featured images of the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

“If you want to defend the honor of the Prophet, do so in a way that is consistent with prophetic manners and ethics, not violence,” Omid Safi, director Duke University’s Islamic Studies Center, wrote less than 12 hours after the shooting.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations sent out an email: “Bigoted speech can never be an excuse for violence.”

But to Khan, the denunciations, though necessary and important, wouldn’t make a difference.

Indeed, among the Twitter messages flying through cyberspace after the failed attack was one radio personality Wayne DuPree sent to his more than 79,000 followers:

“Don’t expect @CAIRNational 2 care about Americans and condemn attack by terrorist thugs. Why are they here anyway #garland #garlandshooting.”

Because you cannot hear what is not said.

“The Council on American-Islamic Relations sent out an email: “Bigoted speech can never be an excuse for violence.””

Because that isn’t a condemnation. It’s a lame excuse to try to place a moral equivalence on it.

Uhhhhhhh, Omid is it? A question from the back of the FEMA re-education camp?

How, exactly, would Mohamet have reacted to a "Draw Mohamet Cartoon Contest"?

Pure Taqiyah BS. "Oh, we are so misunderstood." Moderate Muslims are just camouflage for the jihadists. Moderate Muslims go ahead as advance scouts, setting up "Islamic cultural centers" and opening mosques. These become the "forest" that the future jihadists can hide inside.

If there was a self-proclaimed "Catholic State" somewhere acting like ISIS, millions of Catholics would go there right now and smash them down. We would not just whine about Catholicophobia, and claim that The Catholic State is not truly Catholic.

Because the dying screams of Islam’s victims drown out the mocking words of condemnation.

It gets drowned out by the chants of “Death to America”, etc.

Because what you do leaves a much stronger impression than what you say.

That and the fact that your religion allows you to lie in order to put your victims off guard.

Because the MSM only reports on the violence; it’s not newsworthy to report otherwise.

FROM Wikipedia:

In Shi’a Islam, taqiya is a form of religious lie, or a legal dispensation whereby a believing individual can deny his faith or commit otherwise illegal or blasphemous acts, specially while they are in fear or at risk of significant persecution.

A similar concept in Sunni Islam is known as idtirar ( “coercion”. A related concept is known as kitman “concealment; dissimulation by omission”. Also related is the concept of hiyal, legalistic deception practiced not necessarily in a religious context but to gain political or legalistic advantage.

This practice was emphasized in Shi’a Islam whereby adherents may conceal their religion when they are under threat, persecution, or compulsion.

Taqiyya was developed to protect Shi’ites who were usually in minority and under pressure, and Shi’a Muslims as the persecuted minority have taken recourse to dissimulation from the time of the mihna (persecution) under Al-Ma’mun in the 9th century, while the politically dominant Sunnites rarely found it necessary to resort to dissimulation.

In Sunni jurisprudence, denying faith under duress or other permissible reasons as per Islamic law is viewed “only at most permitted and not under all circumstances obligatory”.

However, there are many examples of practicing taqiyya among Sunnis where it was necessary.

In the Shi’a view, taqiyya is lawful in situations where there is overwhelming danger of loss of life or property and where no danger to religion would occur thereby.

Taqiyya has also been legitimised, particularly among Twelver Shia, in order to maintain Muslim unity and fraternity.

The media did show this documentary once, a few months ago, about the happy ISIS "fighters" lining up for sex-slave auction day.

The loudest so called condemnation would be drowned out by the squeak of a dying field mouse.

People are actually READING and OBEYING their Holy Books.
