Growth is near zero....in fact we could be nearing another “official” recession. Why will gas prices rise if demand is lower for goods and services?

THEN you will see obama's "necessarily" high fuel costs; when it hurts us all the most as the normal market takes effect and the said taxing bastards do nothing to lower the taxes.
