A record number of American voters think they pay too much in taxes. In addition, they think government is more often the source of America’s troubles—not the means of fixing them.

The latest Fox News poll shows by a 67-18 percent margin, voters agree that the assessment by Ronald Reagan of the nation’s woes in 1981 applies today as well: That government is not the solution to our problems—government is the problem.

The portion seeing government “as the problem” is up 14 points from 53 percent in 2008.

Even 51 percent of Democrats describe the government as the problem. Larger majorities of independents (70 percent) and Republicans (83 percent) agree.

Overall, 63 percent say their tax bill is too high. That’s up from the previous high of 54 percent in both 2012 and 2005. …

63 percent say their tax bill is too high

An interesting stat given how little in net taxes the bottom 40% pay.

And in the ONLY polls that matter (election day) voters will vote for more of the same. They almost always do.

Unfortunately, on tens of millions of U. S. Citizens, the taxes are too low. That’s because they aren’t working.

That’s my major beef with the government and private sector right now.

I say private sector too, because the private sector is thrilled to gut our work force by employing foreign nationals.

So yes, government is the problem. Obama has done everything he can to destroy this economy. The private sector has been quite willing to help too.

Crony corporations are not really the private sector.

So their taxes ought to go up, out of those who do pay taxes?

No need to make holes for the libs to fill in with their agenda.

My mom’s property tax in north Seattle is now $5,400 a year. That’s almost one-fourth of what they paid for the house in 1963.

Yes they should go up.
Approx 25% of taxpayers are actually making money on the deal via EITC.

Dedicating this year to educating people on what IS, is.

Crony Capitalists: They aren’t capitalists at all, they are wannabe MONOPOLISTS. Correct usage “ Crony Corporatists

Progressives: Anyone see PROGRESS in one? No.

Correct usage “ REGRESSIVES “ I use this word in public, and leftists always blow a head gasket.

Thank you

I wish Carl Paladino never would have given that moron a forum.

If it was just him and Cuomo he might have won- That debate turned into a circus.

Out of how many working? We’re still at 30 percent unemployment. Any tax increase will just go to feed the welfare state and become redistribution on top of redistribution.

The root problem is not too much tax, it’s the refusal to spend taxes wisely. If the government were a good steward of tax dollars they would be forced to lower taxes.

Like that’s going to happen!!!!

We have WAY too many complex regulations on business. And the current income tax code is 75,000-plus pages of text so complex that James Joyce's famously unreadable Finnegans Wake is almost readable by comparison.

No wonder why the recovery from the 2008 stock market crash has been so uneven.
