Harry Reid Says He Won’t Seek Re-Election
NY Times ^ | MARCH 27, 2015 | By CARL HULSE

WASHINGTON — Senator Harry Reid, the tough tactician who has led Senate Democrats since 2005, will not seek re-election next year, bringing an end to a three-decade congressional career that culminated with his push of President Obama’s ambitious agenda against fierce Republican resistance.

Mr. Reid, 75, who suffered serious eye and facial injuries in a Jan. 1 exercise accident at his Las Vegas home, said he had been contemplating retiring from the Senate for months. He said his decision was not attributable either to the accident or to his demotion to minority leader after Democrats lost the majority in November’s midterm elections.

“He’ll be able to spend more time now on his treadmill”

Good call. I’m thinking that’s WHY he’s not seeking re-election. That beating was a message of some sort.

Had originally thought that the National Socialist Party did it simply to show that they could do this to their BEST FRIEND, so who wouldn’t they do it to?

But this makes more sense.

As I said before the last election when everyone kept saying how favorable the NEXT election would be to the Democrats... I said just wait... no one likes to be in the minority and MANY democrats will choose to retire making 2016 not as favorable toward the Democrats as they thought it might be back in 2014

Can’t help but visualize some guy named Tony telling him “that’s a nice one good eye you have left there, Harry. It would be a shame if something happened to it.”

Any rumors about what Really happened with Dingys eye? A couple weeks back Immus mentioned on his Fox Business morning show that he knew and it wasn’t a exercise equipment failure.

I’m going to go against the grain and say Dingy’s retiring will increase the chances the Dems hold his seat. He’s the most unpopular pol in NV.

We just have to make it through the pukeworthy accolades he'll receive before he leaves.

Hopefully he will be in PRISON where he belongs.

The last Senator to go to jail was Harrison A. Williams (D-NJ) in 1982 for Abscam and he was the first one in 80 years. I highly doubt our justice system has gotten more just since 1982.

“You just know someone told him retire or there will be an investigation into all his corrupt dealings.”

Certainly not the Obama Justice Department. Perhaps the Republican administration in the state.

At age 75, if reelected he’ll be in his 80’s. It may be the power structure knows he has at best one more term due to age, plus he could lose. The Dems may have decided putting a fresh face forward is the better strategy if Harry might lose. If the fresh face wins, there is the potential they can hold the seat for many terms. If Harry runs and wins the game is probably over in 2022.

I think you will see a lot of older Democrats retire in 2016 from Congress. Don’t be surprised that Nancy Pelosi and Dianne Feinstein also retire soon, too.

If that makes him feel better...fine.

Of course, he's taken his money from the taxpayer like fienstien has so he doesn't really care. He's set for life.
