WASHINGTON — Senator Harry Reid, the tough tactician who has led Senate Democrats since 2005, will not seek re-election next year, bringing an end to a three-decade congressional career that culminated with his push of President Obama’s ambitious agenda against fierce Republican resistance.
Mr. Reid, 75, who suffered serious eye and facial injuries in a Jan. 1 exercise accident at his Las Vegas home, said he had been contemplating retiring from the Senate for months. He said his decision was not attributable either to the accident or to his demotion to minority leader after Democrats lost the majority in November’s midterm elections.

Democrats and Liberals are famous for making up ‘fairy tales’ to cover up truth...but one day the truth will become known.
That day can’t come soon enough..It will be good to get him out of semi control of the Senate. His age is apparent and he is in failing health.
He really should leave during the Easter break, why wait until 2016? HE REALLY IS NOT DOING ANY WORK FOR HIS PAY...

Aside from investigations, his re-election is doubtful. IIRC, he just squeaked by the last time (probably with the help of manufactured votes, and illegal voters).
And they took an eyeball to prove they meant business.

I kind of like the way the Chinese treat corrupt government officials who are caught red-handed- they kill ‘em. Chinese government officials are, of course, all corrupt but appearances are everything in the Chinese culture.
After his latest "accident", I didn't expect him to.
I liked living in Vegas up to the time Harry Reid took over in the US Senate.
I too, assumed that Harry Reid's smashed eye socket and crushed sinus cavity were the result of being tossed off a treadmill. We've all seen the videos on YouTube. Those things are dastardly, especially for a corrupt and feeble-minded old man.
However, the Reid camp never even claimed it was a treadmill accident. (That would have actually been plausible.) No, they claimed it was an accident where an elastic band broke (like a TheraBand) and flung him into some built-in cabinetry.
That just does not make sense. If working with a TheraBand and it breaks, the worst thing that will happen is it will give you a nasty red mark across the face. I guess maybe if you were using it to launch 20 pound dumbbells around the room, it could come back and whack you across the eye. But who works out like that? Or perhaps if you were hanging by the elastic band from the ceiling, it could break and you could fall into some cabinetry. Again, who works out like that? Or maybe if you were using it at the edge of a flight of stairs... or if you were using it while juggling chainsaws... you get the gist.

From spy novels, we learn that the best lies always contain an element of the truth. Tell the story the way it actually happened and just change the things that need to be changed. So it is likely that a) Harry Reid was working out at home; b) an elastic exercise band was involved; b) Reid was tossed into some built-in cabinetry; c) Reid is now quitting, saying it's not due to his "accident," which means that it is precisely because of his "accident." I think that about covers it for the truth in this story.
Makes you wonder if this has anything to do with that Bundy family still sitting on the 900 acres plus water rights east of Las Vegas almost a year to the day after Reid's thugs attempted to kill all of them. God bless the Bundys and keep them safe.
