What choice did they have? She quit her job most likely to avoid conflict of interest and now they don’t have the money for health insurance.
I hope there was some sarcasm in that. In addition to his Senate salary, she was pulling down seven figures at her job. They live in a luxury apartment in Houston with a full time nanny. I doubt they're remotely close to qualifying for an Obamacare subsidy.
His Wife should have taken the COBRA Coverage. LOL
Well, aside from his $174,000 a year stipend as a United States Senator you mean?
They don’t have money for health insurance? The salary of a US Senator is $174,000 a year. His wive’s salary before she quit her job was significantly greater than that. They didn’t save up any money before she quit? Even if they didn’t, he can’t buy private insurance with his $174K salary?
It sounds like Ted is saying “Yeah sure Obamacare is unconstitutional, and the worst thing that ever happened to the US but, hey, I’m saving money”. If he had the courage of his convictions he would pay for health insurance out of his own pocket, or even go without.
“What choice did they have? She quit her job most likely to avoid conflict of interest and now they dont have the money for health insurance.”

You do realize that Senator Cruz and his family are already for the VERY heavily subsidized federal employee’s government health insurance due to his employment in Congress? Obama and the corrupt ‘RATS in Congress exempted federal employees and Congress critters from having to sign up for Obamacare.
Among the MANY things this absolutely brilliant move does is to point out the hypocrisy of the ‘RATS.
Ted Cruz is RELENTLESS. The ‘RATS, the mainstream media and the GOP establishment have every reason to fear him. He represents an existential threat to their rule and overlord status.
Do you have a source for that? Or did you pull it out of your nether regions?

I am amazed. She quit a job at Goldman Sachs, he has a congressional salary, and they don’t have enough money saved up to afford health insurance. Give me a break! Also, I also want to know the answer to what insurance people have in Congress.
“The Law” doesn’t require you to sign up for Obamacare. You can get your own private insurance. And I’m sure, in his case, that a private policy would be cheaper.
Also, doesn’t Congress offer policy’s for their members? If so, he can’t sign up under Obamacare. He has to know this. Have to see how this shakes out. Basically, he’s out to prove a point. Which, I think, is that for the majority of folks Obamacare does nothing expect raise premiums, reduce services and raise deductibles.
At least, that’s what it did for my policy at work. Which, BTW, I pay for.
