They’re at the top of the food chain.

So were we. And they still manufacture excellent everyday goods at fair prices.
..............
Certain industries in the USA remain at the top of the food chain.

But its axiomatic that the way you prosper the entire food chain is to feed the bottom of the food chain. You feed the bottom of the food chain in any civilization by lowering energy and water costs.

I just scanned through the first two pages of these colleges & universities from your link. Every single one of them — ultra liberal, hard-core left-wing, marxist ideologies to their very core. They barely tolerate being identified as Catholic, let alone being referred to as “Christian”. Remember how quickly Georgetown Univ caved & capitulated by covering up a cross in their chapel, to placate 0bama giving a speech there a couple years ago? They’re no more Christian than either 0bama is or public universities.

Wrong again. Topsoil.

Major costs for farmers —depending on where they’re at— are water and energy. Most industries are heavy energy users and some are heavy water users.

Transportation of course is especially benefited by lower energy prices.

For consumers of course lower energy and water prices act as a tax cut.

I hope that as marijuana decriminalization and legalization spreads through our country, that reduction in the illegal market will damage the Mexican drug cartels and their political influence. I imagine more US companies would then be interested in a combination of US and Mexican parts and labor for manufacturing, rather than going half way round the world for cost effective manufacturing and distribution.

I think that most states already allow the varieties of school choice you list. The problem now is that no public money can be made available to certain of those categories, particularly the religious ones. Of course with the IRS abolished that would no longer be an issue. Years ago when I read Cong. Linder’s flat tax bill, all 65 pages, there was no provision regarding the taking of money earned in the US outside the country. One can certainly imagine the very rich taking large amounts of money out of the US, buying fantasy retreats overseas, and stocking them with high priced art, furnishings, boats, and cars. Thus, very little of the flat tax money being paid in the US on what they earned here. So once again the worker bees would be providing them with the honey, but paying tax on much of what they would need to buy locally.

You are both basically anonymous, since you have both been here more than 15 years and neither of you has created an about page, unlike some of the rest of us.

I clicked the link and read the article. Here is another important comment that needs to be considered. We will have a number of months to observe his effectiveness in the Senate.

“Thus far, Ted Cruz has proven to be extraordinarily effective at corralling his own people, but far, far less persuasive attempting to convince the Senate to play ball. Is there any particular reason we should expect his campaign to play out differently?”

What about Webb from Virginia, he has been making some noise too. I’v liked some of his military stance. Everyone on that side is nervous about looking too aggressive to Clinton forces.

I'm keeping an eye on all the potential competition. But O'Mallard hadn't been on my radar.

Cruz seems to believe “that every line deserves to be an applause line.”

Darn whippersnappers are still on your lawn, eh? I suggest you have a one-on-one talk with that punk kid, Cruz. I'll bet you'll straighten him right out.

That’s why I would say that to broaden his appeal—Cruz needs to something really outside the box—like promising to kill the cost of water desalination & transport so as to make desalinized water cheap enough for agriculture and therefor the deserts of the USA —and California—green.

As it happens this is going to happen anyway in the next 10 years. However, its important that the pubbies put their brand it like the dems have put their brand on clean energy.

No this is more about applied research.

The payoff would revolutionize the 21st century.

The work is already underway.
