Sen. Ted Cruz plans to announce Monday that he will run for president of the United States, accelerating his already rapid three-year rise from a tea party insurgent in Texas into a divisive political force in Washington.

Cruz will launch a presidential bid outright rather than form an exploratory committee, said senior advisers with direct knowledge of his plans, who spoke on condition of anonymity because an official announcement had not been made yet. They say he is done exploring and is now ready to become the first Republican presidential candidate. …

Experience questions

Cruz made his fame in Texas as solicitor general under then-Attorney General Greg Abbott. Cruz defended the installation of the Ten Commandments on the grounds of the Texas Capitol, which brought headlines and fueled his political ambition. In 2009, he briefly considered running for attorney general, but quickly abandoned his bid.

Three years later, a U.S. Senate seat opened up, with Dewhurst’s name practically carved into it. Cruz, making his first run for political office, seized on the same anti-establishment fervor that had ousted Republicans perceived as too moderate in primaries two years prior. He defeated Dewhurst, who invested $25 million of his own money into the race.

Sorry, I didn’t make myself clear, my comment was in reference to the person YOU were responding to, not you yourself.

Your time and mind will be far more precious. Money doesn’t win elections. Votes properly cast and counted do.

The media is rooting for Jeb Bush because they know he goes to the general election that he will lose..Conservatives will stay home, just like they did with Romney and Hillary Clinton will win..that is what the media is hoping for..Ted Cruz loves Israel, so that is my main reason for supporting him, he is an honest man who loves America, he would make an amazing President..he knows the media will trash him like they do ALL Conservatives but he can handle it

Oh my.

Yes, I thought that since you had quoted my post, and then referenced concern trolls that you were calling me a concern troll, which I must confess I am also not 100% sure what that actually is.

I apologize to you, I am terribly sorry for my angry post, it seems I misunderstood entirely. I withdraw everything thing in my post to you, ack I feel bad.

No problem!

In the context of this thread, a “concern troll” is someone who claims to like Cruz, but is “concerned” that he doesn’t have enough experience to do the job, or is “concerned” that he isn’t eligible to be president because of his Canadian birth, or is “concerned” that the MSM will rip him to shreds.

A junior senator with less than two years in office is running for president? What gall!

He is NOT experienced enough. Now, Hillary, a junior senator from New York, that’s different. Anyone from New York, and anyone from Kenya, is more qualified, than some Canadian from Texas.

Surely you see the /s

I’d be fine with Ted Cruz or Bobby Jindal, or both on the same ticket. Don’t like Christie, Jeb Bush I used to like more but he’s made a bunch statements over the last few years that make me apprehensive.

Thanks, Fresh Wind, I appreciate that. I should have asked instead of assuming. Oh well, at least I learned a lesson in how to behave more like an adult /facepalm.

But I really appreciate the in depth definition of concern trolling in that link. I was not at all familiar with that term, and yeah i think that is what that poster was doing.

It’s almost like a form of PSYOPS.

From my perspective, I intend to support Ted Cruz, because he is the person who appears most able to describe conservative principals, philosophies and solutions to some very serious, possibly even existential, problems that America faces.

And the reason that he is able to do that, whereas seemingly no other republican candidate or elected official can, is because he believes in them. I don’t believe that the man is lying and telling me that he is something that he is not, and honesty counts for everything to me these days.

In terms of whether or not he wins or not, or his candidacy costs the GOP a win or not, I do not care. Whether or not the GOP controls the presidency or any branch of government no longer has any meaning or value to me. Whether or not a conservative or conservatives have control of such does matter to me.

Sometimes a person runs for president and does not win, but gets his name and his beliefs out there, and then wins the next time. Or maybe Ted Cruz catches fire and wins this time. That is within his capability of doing, I believe.

And that is why I hope Ted Cruz announces tomorrow, and assuming he does, that is why he has my vote.

Sarah spent the last 4 years as kingmaker getting conservatives elected to congress gearing up for her 2016 run so she would have people in congress she would be able to work with to get things done. It’s not enough to be president, you have to have the right people in congress willing to work with you, who share your vision to get things done.

Sarah said in her Iowa speech and again during her interview with Sean Hannity that the next president must be a governor with a record of getting things done.

Her PAC has been sending a questionnaire out recently about what qualities we think are important in a president and what issues should be addressed first with the message to please let them know as Sarah makes this very important decision.

I believe Sarah will wish Ted luck, but won’t endorse. She also said it would be too early to announce until late spring/early summer so I wouldn’t count her out just yet.

If Cruz was our president the same time Bibi was PM of Israel, there would be hope in the world again.

"Not that they haven’t already attacked this wonderful man, but after he makes an official announcement, look for our shameful media and gutless POTUS to wage an all out assault on this fine man."

Expect the fifth-column leftist media-terrorists (yeah, I'm even talkin' about you, Mark and Gwen!) to go into a continuous diarrhea mode of their treasonous lies.

There is no hull-crushing depth of demonic depravity ABCCBSCNNMSNBCNBCPBS is unwilling to sink in its treachery against Ted Cruz and those who support him.

But the attacks will only confirm beyond doubt that the MSM are traitors to the U.S. and that Ted Cruz is worthy to be elected President.
